Aswan University are organizing a conference on Student Initiatives for Sustainable Development (2030) on Saturday, 20/4/2019. The conference will be held for two days under the patronage of Dr/ Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar_ Minister of Higher Education, Dr/ Hala Al-Saeed_ Minister of Planning and Dr/ Yasmin Fouad – Minister of Environment.
Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab_ President of Aswan University, declared that the conference aims to highlight the role of youth in achieving sustainable development goals and enable them to play their role as well as adopting student initiatives and activities that contribute to creativity and innovation culture and support initiatives to develop all infrastructure sectors
He added that this conference also aims to emphasize the role of universities and civil society in enhancing governmental efforts to achieve the goals of sustainable development, and the interest of youth projects to promote the concept of sustainable development.
On the other hand, Prof/ Hanan Abdel Moneim Awad_ Vice President of Aswan University for Education and Students Affairs and the President of the Conference, added that there are four main themes that will be addressed by the conference: “The Role of Roads, Transport and Communication in Achieving Sustainable Development – The Role of Sport as an Effective Tool for Promoting Development Goals_ the role of industry in achieving economic sustainability, raising growth and providing jobs – and the role of media as a essential partner in raising awareness of sustainable development goals.
She explained that the conference will include a group of distinguished interlocutors, including Dr/ Hussein Abaza, Advisor of the Minister of Planning, Dr/ Taya Abdel- Latif_ Advisor of the Minister of Higher Education for Student Activities, Dr/ Sobhi Hassanein, First Vice President of the Egyptian Federation of Universities, Dr/ Gamal Ismail_Vice President of the Chemical Industries Company_ Kima_ Aswan, Dr/ Hesham Al-Gushi_ General Secretary of the Egyptian Federation of Universities, Dr/ Imad Adly_ Chairman of the Egyptian Forum for Sustainable Development, Brigadier Dr/ Maged El-Masry_at Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Dr. Mohamed Bashir – Previous Manager of the Maritime Academy branch in Aswan, Dr/ Mohamed Nada_ Lecturer at Nasser Military Academy, Dr. Sami Abdel-Aziz_ previous dean of faculty of Media, Journalist / Zain El-Abedeen, Journalist / Zeinab Mostafa Researcher / Ayman Ragab – at Aswan Faculty of Engineering, and young inventor / Abdel-Rahman Omran – student at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology.
