Establishment of a psychiatric hospital and a medical research center in Aswan Al-Gadeda

Prof. Ahmed Ghaleb Mohammed _Aswan University president _ decided to establish a hospital for psychiatry, an advanced medical research center and one day clinics within a number of buildings in Aswan Al-Gadeda.

Prof/Ghallab accompanied by Prof/ Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury_ Faculty of Medicine dean and Dr. Abd-Allah Al-Obeidi, Director General of University Hospitals in Aswan_inspected the building of the Urban Center in Aswan Al-Gadeda and one of the other buildings after the transfer of their assets from Aswan Al-Gadeda to the university.

Dr. Ahmed Ghalab added that these new medical services come within the framework of the role of Aswan University to provide outstanding medical services to the people of the governorate and to promote development and construction in the Aswan Al-Gadeda, which has a promising future.

He explained that a psychiatric hospital will be established inside the first building to provide excellent treatment services and alleviate suffering to patients in various cities and centers of Aswan and neighboring governorates. The second building will include a center for advanced medical research and clinics for one day in the specialties of internal medicine, pediatrics, Gynecology and obstetrics, etc.

Dr. Mohammed Zaki Al Dahshouri_ Faculty of Medicine Dean in Aswan referred that the new medical research and outpatient center consists of a ground floor and two floors with 28 rooms. The equipment will be completed within two months. The advanced research center is one of the unique centers at level of Upper Egypt universities and it will be equipped with the latest national standards.

Dr. Abd-Allah Al-Obaidi_ Director General of the University Hospitals in Aswan_ explained that the research lab will be a center for providing advanced medical research services to the patients in the governorate and researchers in Faculty of Medicine and the various practical faculties at Aswan University and the corresponding faculties in the regional universities, as a simulation of human surgery to train young doctors.
