“Esteemed colleagues, dear students – my sons and daughters,”
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on the occasion of the new academic year 2025/2026. I wish you all a successful, diligent, and enriching year, filled with academic achievement and intellectual exploration.
The Faculty of Dar Al Uloom at Aswan University, established in 2016 by a decision of the Council of Ministers, is one of the ambitious faculties striving for excellence in the fields of linguistic, religious, and human sciences. The faculty follows an ambitious academic vision aiming to become a distinguished center of knowledge and research with impactful societal contributions and a competitive presence both regionally and globally.
The faculty comprises a group of specialized academic departments, including: Grammar, Morphology, and Prosody; Linguistics and Semitic and Oriental Studies; Literary Studies; Rhetoric, Literary Criticism, and Comparative Literature; Islamic Law (Sharia); Islamic Philosophy; and Islamic History and Civilization. These departments work in an integrated manner to fulfill the mission and goals of the faculty.
The mission of the faculty is to teach linguistic and religious sciences, to prepare academically and scientifically qualified professionals, to uphold the values of moderation and balance, and to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications. It also aims to contribute to the renewal of religious discourse and to serve the community, with a particular focus on scientific research and postgraduate studies.
At the beginning of this academic year, I urge my colleagues, the Academic staff, to fulfill their academic and educational responsibilities toward our students by familiarizing them with the faculty’s systems and regulations, guiding them to optimal learning paths, and encouraging them to research and engage actively.
I also call upon my dear students to commit to seriousness and discipline, to persevere in the pursuit of knowledge, to make the most of the faculty’s resources—such as libraries and professors—and to maintain constructive communication with their instructors, benefiting from their office hours in ways that will contribute to their success and distinction.
We are all responsible for building this academic institution and fulfilling its noble mission, producing generations capable of serving their homeland, armed with sound knowledge, conscious thinking, and noble values.
May Allah guide us all to what is good and right, and may this year be a year of achievement, excellence, and progress.
Prof. Abdel-Hafeez Mostafa Abdel-Hadi
Dean, Faculty of Dar Al Uloom – Aswan University
