The launch of the World English Language Olympiad for Universities (ELO-Uni 2026)

The Organizing Committee of the World English Language Olympiad for Universities (ELO-Uni 2026) has officially opened registration for universities around the world to form and register their competitive teams for the prominent event, which will be hosted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from December 17 to 19, 2026. The registration deadline is October 17, 2026.

This year’s edition is held under the theme “Artificial Intelligence”, highlighting AI as a pivotal tool for promoting modern concepts of education and learning and improving the quality of education provided to young people. The Olympiad aims to prepare participants to engage effectively in both local and global communities.

The event also seeks to enhance participants’ English language skills, promote the use of modern learning theories and scientific research methodologies, and enable participants to develop teamwork and community service skills. In addition, it aims to explore commonalities among different cultures through a wide range of international interactive activities.

Participation Requirements and Team Composition

The Olympiad is open to student teams from various public and private universities, across all academic disciplines, from the Middle East and around the world, according to the following criteria:

  • Age Group: Students aged between 18 and 24 years.
  • Team Composition: Each team consists of 5 students representing the university, in addition to 1 coach or supervisor.

Notes

  • Payment of the prescribed participation fee of 1,000 dinars.
  • All participating teams are responsible for their travel tickets and accommodation expenses.
  • The Olympiad Management will organize and coordinate accommodation and transportation arrangements with the relevant entities approved by the Olympiad Management for this purpose.
  • The Olympiad Management will provide the following during the Olympiad:
    • Coach uniform
    • Lunch meals
    • Work tools
    • In-kind prizes for participating teams during the Olympaid.
