A SCIENTIFIC VISIT FOR STUDENTS OF THE EGYPTIAN NILE SCHOOLS TO FACULTY OF SCIENCE, ASWAN UNIVERSITY

In frame of the cognitive and cultural perception of pre-university Education Students, under patronage of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_ Acting president of University, Faculty of Science received the Egyptian Nile schools _ Aswan Branch, and this in order to transfer experiences and visiting the laboratories of Faculty of Science, and in attendance of Academic staff in all faculty departments with a full explanation of each section and answering all students’ questions.

Dr. Atef Ibrahim assured the importance of sincere belief that society and its advancement begins with building a distinguished and educated child, the visit of Nile School students comes with the aim of providing a distinguished educational service with the support of the Egyptian government. It also provides an integrated interactive educational system that qualifies the student skillfully, mentally, and physically. To be able to compete in the labor market in the twenty-first century, and working to activate the role of Aswan University towards society and the surrounding environment. 

Minister of Higher Education accredited the timetable of Student Union Elections for the academic year 2021/2022

Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar _ Minister of Higher Education and scientific research_ accredited the Timetable for conducting Students Union Election for the academic year 2021 /2022 according to the timetable that accredited by the minister of Higher Education and scientific research, Nominations will be opened on 18th  November 2021, the announcement of preliminary lists will be on 21st  November, receiving appeals requests on 22 November 2021, Appeals will be examined on 23 November, The final lists will be announced on 24th November, the electoral publicity will start on 25th November, the first round of the election will be held in the faculty, the vetting process will be announcement on 28th November, the run-off will be on 29th November, the election of secretaries of the committees and their assistants for all faculties on 30th November, the election of the union president and the vice president for all faculties on 1st December, the students’ election will be finished after the election of Secretaries of the committees, their assistants, Union president and vice president and that on 2nd December 2021.

Dr. Taye Abdel-latif _ Advisor of Minister of Student Activities_ stated that Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar_ Minister of Higher Education and scientific research_ addressed Universities president to take measures and Required arrangements, as stated in the implementing regulation to implement the students’ elections inside universities, forming higher committee to supervise and follow up the Election process at the level of Universities of Republic, With presenting full report about election process after finishing it.

It is worth noting that student elections are held in accordance with Prime Minister’s Resolution No. 2523 of 2017, with amending provisions of the implementing regulation of Universities organization act issued with No. 49 of 1972, and also in the financial and administrative regulation of Students Unions issued with Ministerial Decision No.352 of 2019.

Aswan University president witnessed opening the events of the second book fair

Major General/ Ashraf Attia _ Aswan governor_ opened the second book fair which organized by the ministry of Culture _Aswan Branch_ in cooperation with the general authority of Book and Aswan University _ In attendance of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_ Aswan University president_ and the chairman of General Egyptian book organization, president of the southern cultural district, Prof. Magdy Mohamed Ali _ previous Vice president of Society service and environment development, general coordinator, Dr. Farid Abdel-Zaher_ previous dean of Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom.

Prof. Ayman Othman emphasized the importance of the cooperation in organizing the activities of the second Book fair which is held in Fawzy Summer Theatre in Aswan city from 3 to 12 November 2021, which include many books and articles in different fields and various cultural specialties, which was offered at nominal prices to be appropriate to students and working on raising perceptions of Knowledge to the public through book acquisition and reading, the book fair will witness many Cultural, artistic and poetic evenings and religious chanting.  

 

ASWAN UNIVERSITY DISCUSSES TOURISM SECTOR’S ISSUES ON THE 3RD ROUNDTABLE

Acting president of Aswan university Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman witnessed the 3rd round table organized by Aswan university through Aswan University’s Center for career Development in attendance of several companies.

  His Excellency stressed on the importance of the three university sectors namely; Education, Scientific Research and Community Service and Environmental Development and that the university, through the Center for Career Development, implemented the round table’s activities, entitled “Current Situation of Tourism Sector in Aswan Governorate and Future Trends” in order to discuss the repercussions of COVID-19 pandemic on tourism sector and Finding mechanisms of action after COVID19 and employment in the sector as well as connecting graduates to labor market and providing job opportunities for our students and graduates to keep pace with updates in labor market.

  Prof. Ayman Othman added that the university hosts many companies, hotels, tourist boats and Eco-tourism institutions representing all sectors working in the field of tourism in the governorate. At the meeting’s sidelines, Aswan university professional development center signed 2 agreements of cooperation with Egyptian Family Institution under the patronage of (Mostaqbal watan) party, Aswan secretariat, small, medium and micro enterprise development body, Al Maqar Company in the Digital Innovation Center), through which opportunities for practical and specialized training will be provided, each in its field, for university students and graduates at various work sites and at partners’ workplaces.

Activating Cooperation protocol between Aswan University and Upper Egypt Development Authority

Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman _Acting president of Aswan university_ declared that it is within the framework of Activation of the joint cooperation protocol between Aswan University and the Upper Egypt Development Authority, a meeting was held headed by Brigade staff of War/Sherif Ahmed Saleh _ Head of Upper Egypt development Authority_ Aswan university team work headed by Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abo Ellel_ vice dean of faculty of Agriculture and natural resources and with participation of civil society foundations in the headquarter of Upper Egypt development Authority.

His Excellency added that in frame of implementing upper Egypt development Goals in participation with Good Life Initiative to achieve sustainable development by providing Work opportunities and integrated economic, Agricultural, industrial, educational projects that serve the poorest villages in particular and upper Egypt people in general.

It is approved to consist joint workshops to meet monthly to assess the performance of the poorest villages in Aswan university and studying the results of implementation of development projects of these villages in participation with the university team work which consists of Dr/ Mohamed Hussein Barsi_ vice dean of Faculty of commerce, Dr. Radwan Abdel-Radi _vice dean of Faculty of Archaeology, Dr. Ahmed El-Damarani _ Assistant Professor of faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Hamada Rajab_ Faculty of Social work, Dr. El-Nobi Hefni_ lecturer of Horticulture in Faculty of Agriculture, the work team of the Authority Major General. Hossam Al-Nemr_ Head of the Central Planning Department, Dr. Sabri Salah El-Din_ Advisor to the Chairman of the Authority, Mr. Nasser Adam – Financial Director of the Authority – Eng. Rehab Fayez – Director of the Technical Office at the Authority – and a group of officials of Upper Egypt Development Authority and civil society institutions.

 

Aswan university congratulates the political leadership and the Egyptian people on prophet’s Birth

Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman _ Acting president of Aswan University _ congratulated President Abdel-fattah El-sisi _ on occasion of the prophet’s birth, wishing continued stability and prosperity for our beloved Egypt, That the university and its staff are lined up behind the political leadership in fight against destructive thought and black terrorism and Working to spread the moderation and correct teachings of religion and developing the spirit of loyalty and strengthen belonging to the homeland.

His excellency congratulated the council of ministers and the eminence of the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb -Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar _ Minister of Higher Education and scientific research, Major General / Ashraf Attia _ Aswan Governor, Dr. Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa _ Minister of Awqaf and Aswan people and Aswan University Staff, wishing Allah to bless these days to the Arab, Islamic nation and our beloved Egypt.

 

 

Aswan university President follows the regularity of the education process for the new Academic year and inspects faculty of science

Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_ Acting President of Aswan University_ confirmed that as part of the follow-up to the educational process at Aswan University, the study has been organized at Aswan University since Saturday, corresponding to 9th October for the academic year 2021/2022, with the regularity of study and the attendance of students in faculties amid strict precautionary measures that were applied at the university headquarters in various campuses in Sahari, New Aswan City, Abo El-Rish and Tunnel area, which includes 19 faculties and the Institute of African Research and Studies, which received 30,000 students distributed among the university’s faculties.

Prof. Ayman Othman_ President of the University_ added that the university administration has implemented the plan set to implement precautionary measures to preserve the safety and health of our students, and the first of these measures is to complete the process of vaccinating students against Corona virus, for more than 30 thousand students distributed over 19 faculties in addition to the Institute of African and Nile Basin states research and studies.

He pointed out that the vaccination work started last September 2021 by vaccinating all new students and university staff, including Academic staff and Employees, and the vaccination is being completed for the old students and this continues during the months of October and November, after preparing 6 units to receive vaccinations in the university branches in locations and regions: “Sahari, New Aswan, University Hospital, Abo El-Rish, Tunnel, and the headquarters of Faculty of Nursing.

Prof. Ayman Othman stated that the vaccination of students is carried out in parallel with following the precautionary measures inside the university, from making sure to wear a medical mask and observing social distancing between students, with the application of disinfection and sterilization procedures with alcoholic materials and measuring the temperature while entering the university campus since the beginning of the study day.

Prof. Ayman Othman also made an inspection tour of the university campus in Sahari today, which included the faculties of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Social Work, to confirm the progress of the educational process to the fullest, by taking care of the infrastructure of research laboratories in the departments of Faculty of Science, the laboratories of the Department of Chemistry, Physics and Geology and the rest of faculty departments.

Prof. Ayman Othman_ Acting President of the University_ stated that all maintenance work was carried out in the university hostels, spraying and sterilization works, with a timetable for housing procedures for the academic year 2021/2022 by receiving housing requests electronically for students wishing to stay in university hostels “on the Zahra website through the scheduled appointments for all new and old students, the actual housing for students accepted in university hostels has begun, taking into account the social conditions and the highest grades “for old students, date of birth for new students and the farthest distance” for our students. The electronic platforms for e-learning were also prepared and linked to the university’s information center and communication network.

Aswan University keeps its Arab scientific and research position according to British QS Ranking for 2022

Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_ Aswan University President_ declared that Aswan University ranked for the second year consecutively among the best universities on level of Arab World according to QS Arab Region Rankings 2022, Aswan University ranked in the category 151-180 through the academic year 2022.

His excellency added that the QS Ranking depends on several criteria as ” Academic reputation, International collaboration, Scientific research (citations), Education process quality and the diversity of graduates and that ranking comes again to occupy its scientific and research position globally and on the level of Arab World.

Aswan University’s International Ranking Office and representative of Aswan University in the international conference of QS Ranking for Arab universities in Emirates Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Mehalel Oraby_ has received the Award.  

 

Important announcement

Ministry of Health and Population presented new facilities to Vaccinate students by registration and immediate vaccination for students in students’ vaccination Centre in any place in all over the governorates of Egypt and This is after the Ministry of Health and Population added the field (University Student) on the vaccination website, to speed up the vaccination process for students in university with the aim of Reaching the goals based on the directives of the political leadership and its concern on the safety of students and participants in the educational process. Those who did not receive the vaccine should go to any of the university’s headquarters to receive the vaccine, which is:

1- Aswan University Hospital

2- Sahari headquarter

3- New Aswan Headquarter

4- The headquarter of faculty of Education

This is within the framework of the current measures taken by the state to preserve the health and safety of students and prevent the spread of the virus, and that the university will continue to provide vaccination at the pre-set vaccination centers at the university and on a permanent basis for all students, Academic staff and employees in parallel with the efforts of the Ministry of Health until all university staff are vaccinated with 100% before the Start of the Academic year.
