Today, Aswan University president No. (110) headed by Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman _Aswan University president _in attendance of Major General / Ashraf Attia _Aswan governor_ in attendance of Faculty Deans and Advisors of University president.

Prof. Ayman Othman Welcomed Major General / Ashraf Attia_ Aswan Governor_ and the attendees, for his part, the university council presented university Shield to Major General/ Ashraf Attia _Aswan governor_ and that appreciating to university role in supporting the university, the governorate donated 13 nurseries to Aswan University Hospital.

Major General /Ashraf Attia _Aswan Governor_ presented governorate shield to Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_ appreciating for his role in managing the university in the current transitional phase.

For another part, Prof. Ayman Othman _ Prof. Ayman Othman has emphasized that the university and the governorate are two sides of the same coin, and there is integration and harmony in all scientific, research, community and development fields that benefit Aswan community. His Excellency added that all preparations are being made to receive the new academic year, corresponding to 9/10/2021, from maintenance work in university hostels and university facilities in various university campuses in Sahari and Aswan Al-Gadeda.

Accordingly, committees have been prepared to receive corona virus vaccine at the university for 37,000 students, Academic Staff and employees in light of the fourth wave of corona virus.

On the sidelines of the council, university president honored the students’ union in appreciation of their role and interaction in student activities and the role they played in the success of the academic year 2020-2021. The shield was received by student/ Islam Youssef, president of the union.

Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_ Acting president of Aswan university_ received Dr. Amr Talaat _Minister of communication and information Technology, Major General / Ashraf Attia _Aswan University _ and a delegation of Minister of Communication and that to inspect the Egypt Digital Innovation Center in Aswan University in Sahari.

Prof. Ayman Othman declared that the Egypt Digital Innovation Center consider an addition to Aswan University to keep pace with change and development which the country is witnessing in digital transformation and implementing Egypt’s Vision 2030 through the trainings provided by the center to university students.

On the other hand, the Minister listened to an explanation about the center from Eng. Ahmed Salem – director of the center – which consists of a building and a garden on an area of ​​5,000 square meters inside the university campus in Sahari. And it consisted of two floors, 9 study labs equipped with most modern means, 3 Lecture halls, a center for creativity, and the center is connected to the Internet by a high-speed line and covered with a wireless Internet network. The center also contains embedded systems laboratories and the Internet.

It is worth noting that the center provides services to three authorities affiliated to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, which are the Institute of Information Technology, the National Telecommunication Institute, and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Center. The center provides training services on a wide range of skills related to information technology, through university students and graduates scholarships.

The Minister of Communications held an open meeting with students and trainees at the center, and this came in attendance of Major General. Ashraf Attia – Governor of Aswan, Prof. Ayman Othman – Acting President of Aswan University – Prof. Loay Saad El Din – Dean of Faculty of Engineering – and Eng. Ahmed Salem – Director of the Digital Egypt Creativity Center.

Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, Acting President of Aswan University, declared that there was no truth to what was handed down about false information regarding the dispensation of daily employment at the university.

His Excellency stated that in light of his concern to keep the irregular employments who are working in various sectors, and they will be participated in work during the study vacation, as it was followed in previous years, according to the actual need to work in the concerned departments in all sectors of the university (Education Department).

For his part, His Excellency decided to return the irregular employment before studying vacation, starting from the new academic year 2021/2022, as of Saturday 9/10/2021.

Due to the high demand from Academic staff and researchers, the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) at the Information Technology Industry Development Authority affiliated to  the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology will organize another introductory symposium on the programs and scholarships presented by the center to Academic staff and researchers in universities and research centers at the Republic level, in attendance of Dr. Hossam Othman – Advisor to the Minister of Communications for Technological Innovation and Training, Deputy Executive director of  Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA). And that on Wednesday corresponding to 14^th July 2021 from 11:00  am to 12:00 pm and that via Zoom platform.

Prof. Ayman Othman, acting president of Aswan University, announced that Aswan University ranked 95th in the world and first among Egyptian universities according to the classification of The Times of British Journal of Sustainable Development.

Prof. Ayman Othman congratulated members of the faculty and staff at the university for achieving this classification, stressing the continuation of development work at the university at all levels to achieve advanced positions among universities.

 Prof.  Ayman Othman, acting president of Aswan University, stated that Aswan University, with all its energies, capabilities, scientific facilities, laboratories, applied laboratory,  serves the goals of sustainable development and works to open horizons for investment in Aswan Governorate.
Prof. Ayman Othman added that my first duties in the presidency of the university began in reviewing and evaluating the vision and the strategic plan of the university so that the university would be a beacon of development and an icon for youth employment and linking them to the labor market and knowing and directing their employment opportunities even before their graduation.
From my perspective, the university is a container for development, not just stands and division.
Prof. Ayman Othman, the university’s acting president, announced that the university represents the house of expertise. There is close cooperation from integration with the great efforts made by Major General Ashraf Attia, Governor of Aswan, in moving the wheel of production and development through stimulating investment operations in the fields of agriculture, industry, mining, tourism, and health.
This is my first message to your Excellency, we are with you and all our facilities are at your service, and it is time for us to integrate together to serve our beloved Aswan.
A specialized team is now compiling feasibility studies for sectors that represent a priority for development in the governorate. They will be presented in preparation for free commercial use to the governor.
Working groups are also being prepared to lay down plans to support the governorate in establishing investment cities for granite, another for dates, another for phosphates, and another for fish.
The coming period will witness an unprecedented involvement of the university in serving all quarters and villages of the Aswan Governorate.
