The Approval of the University Council to establish a postgraduate stage at the College of Commerce and Al-Alsun College

The Aswan University Council, in its meeting held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, headed by Prof.  Ayman Mahmoud Othman – Acting President of the University, expressed his sincere condolences and condolences to the families of the victims of the Sohag train accident, stressing that the leadership of Aswan University, faculty members, the administrative staff, and students are sincerely presenting Condolences to the families of the victims, wishing God Almighty to dwell in them in His spaciousness, to inspire their families with patience and solace, and to bless the injured with a speedy recovery.

Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, Acting President of the University, and the University Council expressed their wishes for a speedy recovery to Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghellab Muhammad, the former President of the University, and the continuation of health and wellness.

The works of Council No. (104) were inaugurated by Prof.  Ayman Mahmoud Othman – Acting President of the University, in the presence of Prof.  Magdy Muhammad Ali, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Deans of Faculties and Advisors to the President of the University.
Prof. Ayman Othman congratulated  Excellency Mr. Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi – President of the Republic, the State of the Council of Ministers, the Eminence of the Grand Imam, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, on the occasion of the approaching month of Ramadan.
The Council also approved the establishment of the postgraduate studies at the College of Commerce and the College of Al-Alsun, and also the Council approved the promotion of a number of faculty members, the rank of (1) professor from the College of Engineering, the rank of (2) assistant professors from the College of Science and the rank of (2) teachers From the College of Education, and (1) from the College of Engineering and (1) from the College of Agriculture, the Board also approved granting (2) from the College of Science a doctoral degree, and (1) from the College of Engineering, and a master’s degree, (1) from the College of Medicine, and a number ( 2) from the College of Education, (1) from the College of Science, (1) from the College of Engineering, and (1) from the College of Energy Engineering in various scientific disciplines

The launch of the activities of the World Vein Diseases Week, next Thursday

The activities of the World Vein Diseases Week will start next Thursday, April 8, under the patronage of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, Acting President of the University, and Prof. Muhammad Zaki Dahshoury, Dean of the College of Medicine, in coordination with the World Health Organization to hold scientific activities during the World Vein Diseases Week in the period From 5-11 April 2021.

Dr. Muhammad Zaki Dahshoury, Dean of the College of Medicine, said that the activities of the Scientific Day include awareness-raising methods among citizens about the importance and seriousness of venous diseases and how to prevent them, in addition to simplified lectures for young doctors practicing in the field of vascular surgery, the nursing staff, and medical and therapeutic service providers.

Dr. Mohamed Zaki Dahshoury, Dean of Aswan University of Medicine, added that the invitation has been extended to Egypt as the leading country in this field in the African continent and the Arab world and to the founder and president of the federation Prof.  Emad El-Din Hussein, based at Aswan University, professor of vascular surgery at Ain Shams University and founder of the Egypt Society for Science and supervisor of Department of Vascular Surgery, Aswan University.

Dr. Mohamed Ismail, Head of the Department of Vascular Medicine, Aswan University, indicated that the activities will be held in one of the major hotels in Aswan next Thursday, corresponding to April 8, 2021, and this comes within the framework of the suffering of many people in the age group of 18-70 years of age from venous diseases, whether superficial or deep veins. Chronic rosy insufficiency in the legs or deep vein thrombosis, which may lead to serious complications in the short or long term, and the prevalence of this disease in the community ranges from 17 to 20%, and many medical societies of vascular surgery diseases around the world have been keen to participate in this World Week.

Aswan university president has been infected with COVID 19

Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed has been infected with COVID 19, and is currently undergoing treatment according to the Protocol of Corona virus treatment according to Ministry of Health and he is stable now and through home isolation with all aspects of the necessary medical care.

University staff, including university vice presidents, faculty deans, Academic staff and their assistants, students and university hospital employees expressed their sincere wishes for a speedy recovery to his sovereignty, and asking Allah to bless him with health and complete wellness.

 

Aswan University President: University Hospital has medical possibilities, human cadres, and modern equipment to serve Aswan people

Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed emphasized the remarkable development witnessed by university hospitals at Aswan University in light of the surge that the medical sector is witnessing at Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research under auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel Gaffer_ Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research_ and the most important and latest discoveries of medical sciences at the level of The world of modern techniques and medical devices in the University Hospital in Aswan through the support of Ministry and the Ministry’s University Hospitals Sector for University Hospitals in Aswan. 

Dr. Mohamed Zaki Dahshouri_ Dean of faculty of Medicine added that the medical system in university hospitals in Aswan is witnessing remarkable development under auspices of Prof. Ahmed Ghalab Mohamed_University President_ and that a number of surgeries were performed in attendance of doctors from different governorates in Department of Urology, as these medical capabilities are only available in Aswan University Hospital, because of its capabilities and good modern equipment

Especially the Department of Urology , headed by Dr. Mohamed Mostafa_ Head of the Department and Vice-Dean of faculty of Medicine for Postgraduate Studies and Research, who held the activities of the department’s monthly scientific day in the outpatient hall at Aswan University Hospital today, which dealt with the new in flexible ureteroscopes and lasers in the treatment of kidney stones.

Dr. Ashraf Mebed_Executive Director of University Hospitals in Aswan, explained that the University Hospital is witnessing a medical surge in various departments, from developing and installing the latest medical devices to provide the best distinguished medical service to serve the people of Aswan Governorate from its south to its north.

Launching the annual virtual employment platform for Egyptian universities

Today, Dr. Ayman Ashour _Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Universities Affairs_ launched the UCCD Virtual Platform 2021 and inaugurated first activities of the UCCD Career Expo.

Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan university President, participated in the inauguration of the annual platform, in attendance of  the Ambassador of the United States of America/ Jonathan Cohen, the Director of the United States Agency for International Development/ Leslie Reed, the President of the American University in Cairo/ Francis Richardoni, the representative of the Egyptian government at the American University, Dr. Ashraf Hatem, and the presidents of the partner Egyptian public universities.

The University Centers for career Development project was established in cooperation with USAID and the American University in Cairo. The centers are located in 10 Egyptian universities: (Alexandria, Ain Shams, Aswan, Beni Suef, Mansoura, Menoufia, Minya, Sadat, Sohag and Zagazig).the American ambassador announced the extension of the project duration to include new universities all over the country.

The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for University Affairs, Prof. Ayman Ashour, confirmed in his speech that the role of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is no longer limited to academic education,but we seek together to create a new generation have science and knowledge and spreading the culture of science and innovation through supporting Students and graduates to improve their personal and technical skills to keep pace with the requirements of labor market, which is witnessing many changes in recent times, in light of the repercussions of Corona virus. That the world will witness disappearance of a group of jobs during the coming years in several fields, while new jobs will appear according to the requirements of the new labor market so we should work together to develop the process of attracting national talents and support the entrepreneurial thought of our children.

US Ambassador/ Jonathan Cohen declared that the US government is committed to promot education in Egypt over the past four decades, as the Virtual Employment Forum for the University Centers for Career Development project is a vivid example of cooperation between the United States of America, with the Egyptian government and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to enable and support youth of Egypt University centers for career development improve practical and personal skills and encourage self-discovery among students. He added that these centers could be called “opportunity centers” because of the job opportunities, scholarships, training courses, and other multiple services they provide. University centers for career development has acheived a great success, he announced the extension of the university centers for career developmentproject, the total number of centers reached to (30) centers in (22) universities all over Egypt to serve 70% of Egyptian university students.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President added that the activities of the second employment forum started today under patronage of Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar_ Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research online, with participation of University Centers for career Development in cooperation with the American University and support from the United States Agency for Development for 2022.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_Aswan UniversityPresident participated in the forum with 350 students and graduates including 5 students with visual and physical disabilities from Aswan University. 

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab confirmed during his speech that the total number of beneficiaries from the services of University Center for Career Development since opening the center on 16thJanuary 2020, reached to 16,331 students and graduates, with participation of 6 local companies from Aswan Governorate and 58 companies at level of Republic.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_Aswan University President expressed his happiness with the participation of Aswan University in the second employment forum. He also welcomed Dr. Ayman Ashour, Deputy Minister of Higher Education for Universities Affairs, Dr. Ashraf Hatem, the American University’s advisor and the presidents of the ten participating universities, stressing the importance of the role of the University Center for Career Development and working on qualifying graduates and linking them to labour market, in attendance of the working group of University Center for Career Development.

The President of the American University in Cairo/Francis Richardoni, declared that “The virtual employment platform for University Centers for Career Development project allows us to reach thousands of Egyptian graduates and students and enable them to identify the most important job opportunities available and communicate with representatives of companies, in light of current circumstances that have created an opportunity for innovation. The American University is proud to cooperate with partner Egyptian universities and USAID to support University Centers for Career Development project, through which students in Egyptian universities are empowered to deal with the labor market heis proud to be present today in launching the virtual platform and he wish success to all participants from companies and the business sector, Students and graduates of partner universities.

The representative of the Egyptian government at the American University in Cairo, Dr. Ashraf Hatem, added that The university centers project for Career development is one of the most important projects presented to Egyptian universities and Egyptian students, and it has a positive impact in preparing young people for labor market. He is proud of the efforts made by 16 centers for Career development in Egyptian universities in cooperation with various institutions and under the supervision of the American University grouping work, and this effort resulted in the participation of 55 companies from different governorates in the employment forum, which helps to create new permanent channels for communication between companies and university youth who are Looking for job and training opportunities. “

The National Bank of Egypt and Vodafone Company for Intelligent Solutions (_VOIS) also participated as key partners for the platform.

 

More than 4000 students and graduates from Egyptian universities have registered on the virtual platform, uploaded their CV, and communicated with more than 55 local and international companies to learn about the most important jobs available within different companies and banks, as representatives of companies and banks have been contacted via chat rooms. In addition to attending virtual seminars presented by: The National Bank of Egypt, Vodafone for Smart Solutions, Hassan Allam Real Estate Development Company, Etisalat, Edita for Food Industries, and the Canal Company for Sugar on the most important developments in labor market. This dynamic platform supports employers to be free from the constraints of traditional employment processes. Through this three-dimensional platform on the Internet, business owners and job seekers can communicate in a virtual way that resembles the feeling of real direct interaction.

LAUNCHING THE SECOND VIRTUAL EMPLOYMENT FORUM

in frame of state’s cocern in youth and finding job opportunities for graduates to push the production and development cycle, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed, President of Aswan University, announced the convening of the virtual employment forum that will be held tomorrow, on Monday corresponding to 22/3/2021 , through the Internet technology “online” through the University Center for Professional Development at Aswan University and the University Centers for Career Development.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the events of the virtual employment forum today, on Monday corresponding to 22/3/2021in participation with National Bank of Egypt and Vodafone for Smart Solutions ( the formal participants); as well as the forum is sponsored by great global and Egyptian companies in the various fields (Etisalat Egypt, Commercial International Bank, Raya Holding Company for Financial Investments, L’Oréal Egypt, Vodafone Egypt, Canal Sugar, Hassan Allam Group, Egyptian University for Private E-Education, Tabarak Company, Edita Food Industries, Badawy Group for Food Industries, Allianz Egypt and others in the fields of Food industries, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, securities, construction and reconstruction, energy, transportation, institute of communication technology and others).

Ghallab added the university is caring about providing job and training opportunities for students and graduates, while the virtual employment forum is considered an important step to deal with the developments of the current situation and take advantage of modern technological capabilities, as the University Center team worked to prepare graduates and students for this important event through specialized workshops. For conducting personal interviews, preparing a CV, and other means of support to ensure that students succeed in obtaining the best opportunities.

Ghallab explained that the forum is considered the second of its kind, while the first virtual forum achieved a great success in Sept, 2020 in the attendance of an elite of business owners, and 4000 students and graduates from 10 Egyptian universities( from Aswan to Alexandria). This initiative comes in the light of the university centers project which established until now 16 centers in 10 governmental universities in cooperation with the American Agency for International Development and this by a technical support from the American University in Cairo to block the gap between the university education and the needs of the labor market and industry through providing free professional guidance and training for students and graduates.

The virtual employment forum of the career development centers in the universities 2021 is considered a virtual event which through it the businessmen meet through using chat rooms-teleconferencing-webcasts-webinars; job seekers, final years and recent graduates upload their CVs, browse company pavilions and communicate directly with company representatives. Ghallab pointed out that the virtual forum uses a dynamic platform that supports business owners in liberating themselves from the limitations of traditional recruitment processes. Through this three-dimensional platform via the Internet, business owners and job seekers can now communicate hypothetically in a manner similar to the feeling of real direct interaction as well as creating opportunities and an example of networking.

Nile International Swimming Race

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed, President of Aswan University, announced that one of the most important recommendations of the International Forum for Sport Tourism – prospects and aspirations of (Aswan Ahla Initiative), which emerged from the womb of the presidential initiative, Sports National Security, that launched by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Republic and implemented by Aswan University through the Faculty of Physical Education.

Dr. Ahmed Ghallab added that the International Forum witnessed the conclusion of its events in the attendance of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi-Minister of Youth and Sports.

The forum was held under the patronage of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and Major General/ Ashraf Attia, Governor of Aswan. The forum was hosted by Aswan University and organized by the Faculty of Physical Education, and involved the most important recommendations about the announcing of holding the International Nile Championship of  in the 6th of the next October in Aswan Nile after hiatus continued for 25 years what reflects the joy of the athletes from the sons of this game in Aswan.

The university formed a sports technical and scientific committee in cooperation with the Swimming Federation. To inspect the competition venues and measure the degree of water in the Nile River in Aswan, and that the University harnesses all its capabilities from Nile boats and other game tools that help the success of this race that the people of Aswan are eagerly waiting for.

Eng. Yasser Idris, Chairman of the Swimming Federation and a member of the Board of Directors of the Olympic Committee, indicated that the establishment of the International Nile Swimming race in Aswan on the sixth of next October after a hiatus of nearly a quarter century, and that comes within the framework of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s initiative, “Sports is a National Security”, to confirm Egypt’s leadership on both levels (African and States).

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab stressed that the total number of the beneficiaries from the services of the University Center for Career Development since the opening of the center on the 16th of Jan.2020 achieved about 16.331 students and graduates and this by the participation with 6 local companies from Aswan governorates and 58 companies nationwide.

the International Sports Tourism Forum

The activities of the International Sports Tourism Forum propects and aspirations (Aswan Ahla) were concluded today, in attendance of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi_ Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ President of Aswan University and President of the Conference_ and Major General Ashraf Attia, Aswan Governor.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University President_ confirmed that the university hosted this international forum for sports tourism for three days at the campus in Sahari and on Aswan University playgrounds, which is held under patronage of Dr. Khaled Abdel Gaffer_ Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi_ Minister of Youth and Sports, and Dr. Khaled Al-Anani_ Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, that emanated from the initiative of President. Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Republic (Sports is national security) which was implemented by Aswan University at the beginning of the academic year 2020/2021 on the university’s playgrounds and university’s sports stadium.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the forum was attended by many figures of sports in Egypt, as Dr. Kamal Darwish_head of the physical education sector at the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Mohamed Sobhi Hassanein, Vice President of the Egyptian Sports Federation for Universities, Dr. Gamal Mohamed Ali_ Dean of the Faculty of Education_Assiut University, journalist /Ayman Badra and football commentator /Ashraf Mahmoud And the actor/ Sameh Al-Seraiti, the Aswan businesswoman/ Abeer Essam, and many leaders of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which gave the International Forum cooperation between state institutions in various specialized sectors.

Dr. Ahmed Ghallab referred to the most important recommendations of the forum, a message of thanks to the President of the Republic/ Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, from Aswan” the land of civilizations and history ” and his patronage of the initiative, “sports is national security” and also the holding a championship for Nile Basin countries that would be as an artery for communication between Egypt and the Nile Basin countries on sports, cultural and political level, as well as proposing joint programs from Sports tourism with foreign countries with double certificates and the addition of the sports tourism program at the private University, which is being implemented at Aswan University. The endeavor to establish the Nile International Championship on the sixth of October in Nile Aswan, and to establish branches in Aswan for the Egyptian Sports Federation for Universities and the Egyptian Sports Federation for All in Aswan and the Egyptian Federation for Sports Culture, Sports Tourism and Sports Navigation.

Dr. Adel Makki, Faculty of Physical Education Dean, declred that one of the most important recommendations is to initiate the preparation of a unified list faculties of physical education in Upper Egypt due to the great similarity in capabilities, environment, customs, traditions and labor market.

As well as organizing a sports tournament for all between universities after the success of its experience at Aswan University, based on the directives of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi_ Minister of Youth and Sports. And working on establishing and inaugurating a center for the preparation and training of African sports navigation, inclusion of sports navigation within the curricula of Faculty of Education_Aswan University, establishing a center for rowing and kayaking in Aswan under the auspices of the Sports Federation of Universities, establishing the International Forum for Sport Tourism on a regular basis.
