Aswan University President receives a scientific committee to examine the scientific production

Today, Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed and in attendance of Faculty of Energy Engineering dean Dr. Adel Zain El-Din Mohamed received the scientific committee to examine the scientific production of the professors and assistant professors of power engineering and electrical machinery at university headquarter in Sahari.

University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed confirmed that Aswan University is witnessing a surge in scientific research outputs in recent years, and that as a result of a series of measures taken by the university that will enhance scientific research and its outputs in terms of quality and quantity of research. In this regard, the university followed a well developed scientific methodology with strategies and policies in line with international standards, which had an impact on the emergence of the university in several international rankings and assumed leading positions globally, locally and regionally.

 Prof. Ahmed Ghallab referred to the importance of the scientific research sector at the university in its various faculties, and the university is working to harness all its potentials to upgrade the scientific research system and provide support to all research sectors. Scientific research is one of the most important scientific axes that put the university at the forefront of Egyptian, Arab and regional universities.

Faculty of Energy Engineering dean Dr. Adel Zein Al-Din stated that the visit of the scientific committee comes as a new tradition at Faculty of Energy Engineering and this helps the process of evaluating scientific research and creating a good environment for competing in the scientific research sectors with the support of Aswan University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ who spares no effort in providing support for Scientific and academic research.

University Center for Career Development at Aswan University announces the first virtual employment platform for 2021

Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed declared that in frame of training students and working to refine their talents and linking them to the labor market and its needs, the University Center for Career Development at Aswan University announces launching the first virtual employment platform for 2021 under patronage of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, and in cooperation with nine presidents of other universities.

 Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that this new platform will allow employers to offer job and training opportunities throughout the year. This platform will also provide students with the opportunity to constantly communicate with companies and employers and presenting CVs to conduct personal interviews, as well as attending many events and seminars on career counseling. The platform will launch its first events entitled “UCCD March Career Expo” on Monday 22nd March 2021. This is the second forum of its kind where the first virtual forum held in September 2020 achieved great success in attendance of a group of employers and about 4000 students and graduates from Ten Egyptian universities in nine governorates, from Aswan to Alexandria.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab indicated that this initiative has reached 15 centers so far in ten government universities, which were established in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development and technical support from the American University in Cairo to work on bridging the gap between university education and the needs of labor market and industry, By providing free Vocational guidance and training to various students and graduates.

 Prof. Ahmed Ghallab confirmed the importance of launching this permanent employment platform as part of our constant endeavor to serve students and graduates.

This virtual employment platform is a dynamic three-dimensional platform that supports employers to be free from traditional employment processes and enables employers and job seekers to communicate virtually in a manner similar to direct and realistic dealing. The platform provides opportunities to connect and access to the best distinguished young Egyptian cadres, through which employers meet university students and graduates in a virtual environment and use chat rooms, teleconferencing, webcasts, webinars or email to exchange information about available jobs.

Aswan University signs a Cooperation protocol to support investment projects with Upper Egypt Development Authority

Aswan University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed declared that the university represents the expertise center and engine of development through the diversity of faculties specialties and its units represented in the specialized centers, the engineering consultancy center and various faculties in order to achieve partnership with the projects of Upper Egypt Development Authority and working on providing technical support, consultations and scientific expertise in all fields supervised by Aswan University.

In this frame, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President, signed a cooperation protocol with Major General. Sami El-Shennawi_Chairman of Upper Egypt Development Authority, in attendance of Dr. Sabri Salah El-Din_ Advisor of President of Upper Egypt Development Authority for Developmental and Strategic Projects headed by council of ministers.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that it aims at joint and constructive cooperation between the authority and Aswan University in various developmental, social, economic, industrial, agricultural, scientific, cultural and other fields, in order to ensure the achievement of tangible positive results that benefit Upper Egypt society and create job opportunities for its people.

For his part, Major General. Sami Al-Shennawi_ Chairman of Upper Egypt Development Authority_ stated that the authority seeks to enhance cooperation with the various state agencies to overcome all obstacles of investment in Upper Egypt governorates and to develop the resources of each governorate and to accelerate developmental projects according to Law No. 157 of 2018 in establishing the authority and defining its terms of reference, We sign it today because development in Upper Egypt is tomorrow’s investment.

Mr/ Wael Abo Talib _the media spokesperson of Upper Egypt Development Authority_explained that the protocol aims to that Aswan University provide Upper Egypt Development Authority with all information and expertise in the fields and activities that the authority is implementing in Aswan governorate through university’s engineering consultancy center, developing and utilizing university farms to serve environment and society sector and increase its added value. .

As well as the activities carried out by the university, including the bakery unit at Faculty of Agriculture, in order to train in good food processing of the foodstuffs available in the Aswan governorate and invest the energies of young people by holding general and specialized training courses for students, developing their skills to meet the needs of labor market, opening job opportunities for trained and qualified graduates of Aswan University to Labor market, preparing detailed studies on the desert areas in Aswan Governorate and developing  an agricultural map to achieve wealth in agricultural and livestock production, as well as industrial and mining areas for investment, which will benefit us and make Egypt one of the leading countries in terms of attracting investments.

Aswan University president: Medical staffs receive COVID 19 vaccine according to registration priority

 

Today, Aswan University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed received the first doses of COVID 19 vaccine for medical staffs inside Aswan University Hospital,  that the vaccination work for university president and medical staff started according to registration priority

 

Dr. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshouri_ Faculty of Medicine Dean, Dr. Ashraf Mebed_ Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, and Dr. Essam Abo El-Majd_ Director General of University Hospital, in attendance of Dr. Mohamed Mostafa_ Vaccine officer _ got the vaccine.

 

 Dr. Ahmed Ghallab emphasized that protecting medical staff is one of the priorities of Egyptian state, which endeavoured to provide full care to the White Army.

 Prof. Ahmed Ghallab stated that the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine was registered in Egypt by the Egyptian Drug Authority, and that the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine has proven effectiveness in clinical trials reaches to 89% and in producing antibodies, 99% protection against infection and 100% protection from the emergence of severe and critical symptoms,

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_Aswan University President, added that the University Hospital serves patients of Aswan governorate and neighboring governorates in southern Upper Egypt, and in this context we call on all groups in society to work together and participate for the health of our patients in light of the repercussions of Corona virus.

Dr. Ashraf Mebed_ Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, indicated that cooperation took place today with Faisal Islamic Bank_Aswan Branch, in attendance of Ashraf Mohamed Hussein_ Bank Director_in providing medical modern equipment in the university hospital and working to provide medical assistance by contributing in conducting X-rays, analyses and treatment for those who are unable to afford costs And people with special needs, in coordination with university hospital administration.

Ashraf Hussein_director of Faisal Bank _Aswan branch_ explained that the bank’s management is working to strengthen its societal role in providing financial support to these incapable cases and providing disinfectants, sterilization and spraying means in light of confronting COVID 19.

Aswan University President inspects first semester exams

Today, Aswan University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed followed the first semester exams,

He inspected functioning of exams process at faculty of Commerce in Abo Al-Rish, accompanied by Dr. Mostafa Haseeb_ Faculty Dean _and Vice Deans.  

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab confirmed that the university administration continues to reassure functioning of exams process and ensure that precautionary measures are applied to protect against corona virus, follow up the problems of our students, and communicating directly

University president added that the university is working to harness all the university’s potentials and medical services to create a safe, appropriate and comfortable environment for students during the exams, as Aswan University students in its all faculties reach 29,000 students who perform exams, starting from last Saturday, 27th February 2021.

 Stressing the importance of daily follow-up through crisis management committees formed in all faculties and the central administration to avoid our students from getting infected with corona virus and to carry out sterilization works daily and permanent basis.

 

Accrediting the First Entrepreneurship Contest result at Aswan University

Aswan University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed accredited Entrepreneurship contest result for students of Aswan University, which was announced in January 2021 by the University’s Entrepreneurship Club in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology headed by Dr. Mahmoud Saqr. The contest is entitled ” Aswan University students are Distinguished Entrepreneurs” under the supervision of Prof. Ayman Othman_ Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research.

Dr. Abo El-Hassan El-Shazli Ahmed Younes_ club’s manager_ stated that 24 individual contestants and 13 teams has applied, with a total of 34 contestants within the teams, and a total of 58 contestants. After the first evaluation phase, the number of applicants for the contest after excluding those who did not fulfill the conditions became 16 individual contestants and 13 teams, with a total of 34 contestants within teams, and a total of 50 contestants. And in the semi-final qualifiers, the final numbers of contestants who were ready to enter the final competition are 6 individual contestants and 9 teams, with a total of 25 contestants within the teams, and a total of 31 contestants.

The final qualifiers of the contest took place through the jury meeting formed with the approval of Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, and the trade-off procedures was made between the projects submitted in the two branches of the competition and experts from inside and outside the university participated in the arbitration by applying unified criteria, where the result was as follows:

(A) Individuals contest

First place:

Factory of manufacturing natural and aromatic oils distillation devices running by solar energy

Second place:

Modified ventilator. (EFHA. Vent)

 

(B) Teams contest

First place:

Manufacture of fish feed from fish processing waste

Second place:

 Azo feed

Third place:

Educational application for children with autism

 

Dr. Mohamed Gaber Abbas_ University Entrepreneurship Coordinator_ added that the prizes include a period of support and qualification for the winning projects to participate in the Entrepreneurship of Egyptian universities at the republic level and incentive financial awards for 14 students from Aswan University.

Holding a round table on “Restructuring Labor Market in Aswan Governorate in Light of COVID 19 Pandemic”

Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ declared that as part of the effort of Aswan University for continuous communication to connect university graduates and students with the needs of labor market. University’s Professional Development Center is preparing to hold a round table next Sunday, 28th February 2021, entitled “Restructuring the Labor Market in Aswan Governorate in Light of COVID 19 Pandemic” Toward a new strategy to keep pace with future jobs, which aims to discuss developments in labor market and the economic impacts of COVID 19 crisis and its impact on employment requirements, in the near or distant future.

Aswan University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed added that we are working on serving our students and graduates to keep pace with recent developments in labor market, to be qualified to compete and keep up with Everything that’s new .

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab indicated that the university is about to host this meeting, which brings together many companies and authorities representing all different sectors in Aswan Governorate. On the sidelines of the meeting, the University Center for Career Development will sign a cooperation agreement with Al-Tawfiq Construction Company and Al-Salam Academy School and that will provide practical training opportunities to university students in various work places.

 

A Cooperation agreement between Aswan University and Universities Sports federation for organizing the international sports tourism forum (prospects and aspirations)

In frame of political leadership’s interest in sports activities and in fulfillment of the presidential initiative (Sport is national security), Faculty of Physical Education organizes the international sports tourism forum (prospects and aspirations) from 18-28th March 2021, under patronage of Dr. khaled Abdel-Gaffer _Minister of Higher Education and scientific research, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy _Minister of Youth and sports, Dr.Khaled Al-Anany _Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Maj.Gen/ Ashraf Attia _Aswan Governor, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab _University president and head of the forum.

In this regard, Universities Sports federation and Aswan University signed a cooperation agreement between the forum administration and the International Academy of Sports Science and Arts affiliated to the federation For holding training courses on the sidelines of the forum to Academic staff and students of Aswan University, the signing of the agreement was witnessed by Dr. Sobhy Hasanain_ vice president of Universities Sports federation, Dr. Hesham Mohamed Al-Juoshi_ Union General Secretary, Captain/ Ahmed Shobair_ Board Member of the Federation, Dr. Adel Mohamed Abdel-Moneim Mekky _Faculty of Physical Education dean and the Secretary General of the Forum.   

Aswan University President inspects the first semester exams with strict measures

Today, Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ inspected First semester exams committees at university headquarters in Sahari, which are performed by 28,000 students in various faculties of university, which are 18 faculties and institutes.

University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed confirmed that the university has made all preparations for the first semester exams in advance according to directives of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Supreme Council of Universities. 

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab emphasized implementing Aswan University’s plan to ensure the proper functioning of the first semester exams as providing well-ventilated halls for exams committees and taking into account the social distance of one and a half meters between each student, with wearing medical masks and measuring temperature for students in all faculties, communicating with  crisis management committees and applying all precautionary measures in light of confronting Corona virus, to ensure of the safety of students, Academic staff, their assistants and all employees at Aswan University, and working to harness all university’s capabilities to implement the exams and working on the success of the first semester exams in light of the exceptional circumstances the country is going through.

The inspection tour of university president included committees of Faculty of Science, Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Physical Education on university headquarter in Sahari. 

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab pointed out that the medical committees are doing their work in full swing, and if there is suspected case of any student, he will be isolated and transferred by the equipped ambulance to isolation in university hospital, and he is allowed to enter the exams again after his recovery, and getting the full grade according to the decisions of the Supreme Council of Universities to present Full facilitation for students.

University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab was accompanied during his inspection tour by faculty of science dean Dr. Atef Ibrahim, the Vice Deans of the faculty, Dean of faculty of Agriculture Dr. Yasser Abdel Hamid and national Resources, and Vice Deans of faculty.
