Aswan University Council discusses exams procedures for the first semester 2021

Aswan University council No.(103) was held today headed by Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed and in attendance of Vice president of graduate studies and research Prof. Ayman Othman and Vice president of society service and environment development and advisors of university president and faculty deans.

Aswan university president started with welcoming the attendees, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab emphasized applying all precautionary measures to confront corona virus in various committees in faculties, and that in frame of university plan preparing to first semester exams which will start on Saturday 27th February 2021, and that according to the directives of Minister of higher Education and scientific research and the supreme council of universities and the exams schedules announced in various faculties.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that we are working to take into consideration standards of justice and compassion in order to facilitate university students and working on implementing university plan to ensure the proper functioning of the first semester exams by providing well-ventilated halls for exams committees and taking into account the social spacing of one and a half meters between each student, with wearing medical masks and measuring the temperature of students in all faculties and with applying all precautionary measures in light of confronting corona virus, for the safety of students, Academic staff, their assistants and all employees at Aswan University, and working to harness all the university’s potentials for conducting exams, and that through the success of first semester exams in light of the exceptional circumstances the country is going through.

The council reviewed the most important construction projects at university that are going in full swing on the campus in Sahari and in Aswan Al-Gadeda, and all medical facilities at university hospitals and specialized medical centers at Aswan Al-Gadeda, which is being implemented and will represent a qualitative transfer to the medical and health system in Upper Egypt, Including what was recently opened, the Central Care Unit, which includes 10 beds, to serve patients in Aswan, and adding about 300 beds at Aswan university hospital and that for adding many operating rooms, intensive care and other medical services, that 85% of internal medicine Hospital construction project has been implemented.

The internal medicine Hospital consists of 5 floors. The hospital includes 150 beds in general and private internal medicine, neurosurgeon, cardiology, oncology, Plumonology, dermatology, and physiotherapy departments. And the project of establishing the reception and Emergency hospital is currently under way which consists of 4 floors and 150 beds in the departments of surgical operations, casualty and emergency, intensive care, radiology and laboratories, and working to finish the current expansion projects, and central restaurant equipment, dining halls, sterilization rooms, central laundries, and housing for doctors in the outpatient building and developing the orthopedic, internal medicine and urology departments.

The Council approved appointing a number of Academic staff and their assistants in positions of lecturer and assistant professor and granting scientific degrees.

                              

Aswan University President: We are working on implementing all precautionary measures in preparation for first semester exams

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President_ declared that the university has made all preparations for conducting the first semester exams, which will start on Saturday, 27th February 2021, according to the regulations and directives of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Supreme Council of Universities, according to the examination schedules announced in various faculties.

Dr. Ahmed Ghallab emphasized implementing Aswan University’s plan to ensure the proper functioning of the first semester exams as providing well-ventilated halls for exams committees and taking into account the social distance of one and a half meters between each student, with wearing medical masks and measuring temperature for students in all faculties and with applying all precautionary measures in light of confronting Corona virus, to ensure of the safety of students, Academic staff, their assistants and all employees at Aswan University, and working to harness all university’s capabilities to implement the exams and working on the success of the first semester exams in light of the exceptional circumstances the country is going through.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, Aswan University President, indicated that university hostels have prepared to receive students, starting next Wednesday, 24th February 2021, after implementing sterilization works in various hostels buildings, taking into account applying all precautionary measures to ensure the safety of students and university workers.

Kindly, be informed that the internet service and as a result the websites hosted in the university servers will be cut off in the whole university faculties and administrations from Thursday corresponding to 25th Feb. 2021 at 2 pm till Friday corresponding to 26th Feb. 2021 at 11 pm for the finishing works undergone in the university’s information technology and communication center.

Aswan University President: preparing teachers of refugees and immigrants is one of the most important international projects

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President declared “We are working on the success of the project for preparing teachers of immigrants and refugees, which considers the first in the world in terms of idea, topic and humanity. It is working on training teachers who work with children of refugees and immigrants and how to apply the right and scientific methods of teaching them and getting them out of harsh psychological conditions as a result of the conditions that they and their families have suffered from it, whereas the curriculum and content will be developed by specialized university professors from eight Egyptian, British, Greek and Cypriot universities, including Aswan University.              

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University President _added” that he hope that this experience will be generalized later in the universities of the world due to the importance of this project in upbringing future generations and not leaving them subject to deviation, extremism and hunting by those who are stalking.

Dr. Nadi Kamal Aziz Gerges_ Director of Quality and Assurance Center at Aswan University and a member of the project, expressed his thanks and appreciation to Aswan University President, Dr. Ahmed Ghallab, and the professors working on the project, namely: Dr. Radi Abdel-Majeed, Dr. Nadi Kamal, Dr. Ahmed Al-Atifi, Dr. Adel Abdel- Fahim, Dr. Abdel-Nasser Fayez, Dr. Yasmine El-Sayed Mahran and all the persons who work Directly or indirectly, for what they presented in this experimental course, which resulted in good results and the extent of positive and beneficial interaction between Academic staff  who are lecturers and Egyptians and Syrians trainees, during which weaknesses and strengths were observed in the curricula, which will be reviewed and under which a professional diploma certificate will be awarded to refugee teachers and immigrants in the future, and all participating Academic staff were up to the responsibility and tried to give information and receive feedback very well. Launching the third day for training Imams at Aswan University

Today, under patronage of Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President_ and under supervision of Prof. Ayman Othman_ Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, the activities of the third day of the training course for imams and preachers will be completed on university headquarter in Sahari.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab stressed the importance of cooperation between the two parties in correcting destructive ideas and beliefs in frame of an enlightened religious discourse. The lectures are entitled Arabic language and its literature to find out the importance of articulation of sound and how to pronounce the correct pronunciation. The course is part of the protocol between Aswan university and ministry of Endowments and working on activating the university role in society service and providing technical support for different authorities and institutions.

The lecturer in the first session was Prof. Farid Abdel Zaher_ professor of literature and criticism, while the second session was about the rhetoric of the Qur’an, the prophetic hadith and the rhetorical sections of eloquence and semantics.

Aswan University President : Activating cooperation protocol with Ministry of Endowments for training imams and preachers

Today Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President_ witnessed activating a cooperation protocol between the two parties, in attendance of Prof. Ayman Othman_Vice President of University for graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Mohamed Ezzat, Undersecretary of Ministry of Endowments in Aswan, Prof. Farid Abdel Zaher, Former Dean of Faculty of Dar Al-uloom, and Dr. Mohamed Abo Al-Sheikh, Dean of Faculty of Dar Al Uloom and trainees from Imams and preachers.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab welcomed the attendees and appreciated the importance of cooperation between the Ministry of Endowments, led by Dr. Mohamed Mokhtar Jumaa_ Minister of Endowments_ and Aswan University, to train imams and preachers, which aim to rehabilitate imams and develop their intellectual and cultural capabilities towards sciences of the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet in various current religious issues. 

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added during the event of the protocol signed between the Ministry of Endowments and Aswan University regarding training imams and preachers to raise awareness and education towards current issues in several areas, including Arabic language sciences and literature and their fields of psychology, communication skills and the art of recitation, and the protocol includes Faculties of Arts, Dar Al-Uloom, social work, Medicine.

Prof. Ayman Othman_ Vice President of University for graduate Studies and Research, indicated that it was approved between the two parties to open registration for masters and doctorates at the university for imams and preachers, the tuition fees will be equal, and this in frame of the state’s concern in imams and preachers, developing religious discourse and fighting destructive ideas.

  Prof. Mohamed Ezzat, Undersecretary of Ministry of Endowments in Aswan, explained the importance of training and qualification for imams and preachers to keep up with the developments that have occurred in society, stressing the importance of this protocol with Aswan University, which represents the niche of knowledge.

The Undersecretary of Ministry expressed his thanks and appreciation to Dr. Mohamed Mokhtar Jumaa, Minister of Endowments, for his concern to the imams and preachers.

Aswan University president: opening intensive care unit in Aswan University hospital is a new addition to serve Aswan Patients

Today, Aswan Governor Maj. Gen/ Ashraf Attia, Aswan University president Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed, Faculty of medicine dean Prof. Mohamed Zaki El- Dahshouri, undersecretary of ministry of health Dr. Ehab Hanafy, executive manager of Aswan University hospitals Dr. Ashraf Mebed, Director of central administration for health affairs in hospital Dr. Essam Abo El-Majd, executive chairman of Egyptian cure bank Dr. Moez Al-shahdy _witnessed opening the intensive care unit.

Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed declared that opening the intensive care unit considers a gift from the Egyptian cure bank which contains 10 beds of the intensive care unit and 10 monitors, central monitoring unit, 18 infusion pumps, 5 medicine pumps, 5 drug pump, 5 air mattresses, 10 ventilators that costs 10 million pounds, installation and commissioning of the incinerator to get rid of medical waste in university hospital which costs 7 million pounds, opening the intensive care unit considers a new addition to serve hospital patients which include 75 intensive care unit and by opening this unit, the intensive care units reached to 85 units.

For his part, Dr. Moez Al-shahdy _Executive chairman of Egyptian care bank, the Egyptian care bank is working from 10 years on providing health care system for free for citizens who are not able to afford the cost of treatment from Egyptian society people through our experiences in fields of charitable and health works and our strong and lasting partnerships with entities involved in providing health service as governmental and universities hospitals.

Dr. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshouri _Faculty of medicine dean_ added that the intensive care unit is essential component in Aswan University hospital which considers” saving patients’ life” unit and considers anew addition inside Aswan University hospital.

Dr. Ashraf Mebed _executive manager of Aswan University hospitals added that Aswan University is working on receiving all patients from Aswan and neighboring governorates, hospital administration seeks to provide medical service to be proper to Aswan People and the unit considers a new breakthrough added to intensive care units in Aswan University hospital.

Aswan University achieves an advanced position in responding to citizens’ complaints

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President declared that in frame of communication with citizens and responding to complaints promptly, Aswan University achieved an advanced position among the Egyptian universities. The report of the Unified Governmental Complaints System in Ministers Council also mentioned during a detailed report on complaints registered on the system, during  January 2021 in various educational, medical and community sectors

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that through the university’s electronic system and direct communication with the unified government complaints system in Ministers Council, we are working to find solutions and respond to all complaints that come to the university from January 2011 to February 2021 and indicators of performance measurement in terms of total complaints came in 262 individual complaints and 200 group complaints. 62 The total number of complaints was 262, with a completion rate of 100%, and the complaints included 247 citizens, 11 from a government agency, 2 civil societies, and 1 resident.

Among the indicators of complaints completion from January to December 2020, where the total number of complaints reached 83 individual complaints, 66 group complaints, 17 total complaints, 83 complaints, and that according to the report of the unified governmental complaints system in Ministers Council.

Aswan University President receives Arts Sector Committee

Today, Aswan University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed received Arts Sector Committee formed of Dr. Basem Salah Mohammad, Faculty of Al-Dean , Minia University, Dr. Abdel Hamid Ali Ghallab, faculty of Al-Alsun Dean, Kafr El Sheikh University, and Dr. Farid Abdel Zahir Saeed, former Dean of the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom, Aswan University, to study of the equivalence of the bachelor degree by the higher institute for languages and translation.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University President added that we are working on the multiplicity and diversity of study fields at Aswan University, which provides great chance for governorate people and the also neighboring governorates to enroll in the university’s faculties and institutes in order to facilitate them, especially after Aswan University now has many different faculties.

 Prof. Ahmed Ghallab pointed out that Aswan Governorate has a special nature as it is a tourism governorate and a global tourist destination.

Aswan University preparations for first semester exams 2020/2021

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President_ announced university’s preparations to hold the first semester exams, which will be held after the end of mid-year vacation, starting on 20th February, explaining that there is a strict plan to implement precautionary measures for the prevention of corona virus.

University President /Ahmed Ghallab added that exams schedules for all faculties will be announced successively so that students and Academic staff prepare for exams works , and final preparations first semester exams 2020/2021, as the university has the capabilities through which it can provide well-ventilated halls for exams committees and take into account Social distancing of one and a half meters between each student with wearing medical masks in various faculties and with applying all precautionary measures in light of confronting Corona virus, in order to ensure the safety of students, Academic staff, their assistants and all university employees, and working on harnessing all university’s capabilities to conduct exam works and working on the success of the first semester exams in light of the exceptional circumstances the country is going through.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab explained that the university is striving to conduct examinations electronically, starting from next year, in frame of university’s plan for digital transformation, stressing the importance of digital transformation and working on the university’s commitment and full keenness to implement the directives of the state, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications to Transforming Egyptian universities into smart universities.         

University president added that Aswan University have good ingredients in terms of technological infrastructure and availability of the Internet, that its efficiency has recently been upgraded, and that the university has a unified electronic platform for distance learning and processing of electronic examination centers at the university is being finalized in addition to the equipped research laboratories, whose results have appeared that Aswan University has achieved advanced places in international scientific rankings, and that the university works in frame of achieving Egypt’s vision and strategy for comprehensive development 2030. 

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab indicated that the university’s preparations for receiving the second semester are underway by preparing lecture halls and research laboratories in all campuses of the university in the Sahari, Aswan Al-Gadeda and university hostels and working on implementing all precautionary measures to confront Corona virus from sterilizing buildings and gates with self-sterilization, and to carry out spraying and sterilization works regularly for educational facilities, availability of temperature measuring devices, ensuring that these measures are applied in order to ensure the safety of students, determining the extent of preparation of faculties to receive students to complete the study for second semester of this year in light of implementing precautionary measures, in frame of directives of Prof. Khaled Abdel Gaffer_ Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Supreme Council of Universities.
