In frame of state efforts to combat corona virus and according to higher ministry and scientific research in applying e- learning platform, Aswan university president Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed declared that the university center for career development is a milestone in developing and qualifying upper Egypt students to compete in labor market from its opening by Minister of higher education and scientific research Prof/ Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar _ on 16^th January 2020.

The university center for career development in Aswan Al-Gadeda has become among 14 centers on level of Egyptian Universities which play its role in training and qualifying students to be involved in labor market.

Prof/ Ghallab added that the center has communicated with students electronically and presented many training and marketing courses, one of them was a training on employment skills for five days that is interactive training through Zoom application and attended by 14 students, Prof/ Ghallab witnessed the conclusion of the event (online) and discussed students in the training and taking their views in the electronic center services and their positive interaction.

Microsoft –certified computer training was conducted over 14 days for two groups of students electronically, students will perform the exam through electronic application with total of 40 students and that within university precautionary measures against coronavirus.

In addition to that the center has conducted an electronic training course on computer basics and network setup accredited by Cisco Company which included 27 students over the month (online).

Prof/ Ghallab pointed out that the university center for career development at Aswan University was established within the project of career development centers at Egyptian universities. And that with the support of American agency for international development and in cooperation with American University in Cairo which provide the technical support and training to staff of the Center in Aswan University to be qualified to present all training and workshops and professional consultations and center’s services for students after the end of the project in 2020.  

 

 

Prof/ Khaled Abdel- Ghaffar _Minister of higher education and scientific research_ declared that 20 full sterilization cabins have been distributed to university hospitals to sterilize all visitors and to protect the medical teams and all employees in university hospitals from infection of corona virus, he confirmed that it is planned to provide more sterilization cabins to provide all university hospitals.

The minister indicated that it is a continuation of the precautionary measures which taken by Ministry to combat corona virus and implementing to political leadership’s directives to maintain public health and to limit the spread of coronavirus.

It should be noted that the minister has stated before that all precautionary and preventive measures should be applied in all university hospitals, and implementing all preventive measures to preserve the safety of  Medical teams, administrative staff and patients, and providing sterilization and detection tools to all workers in university facilities to limit the spread of coronavirus.   

Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University president, Major General / Ashraf Attia _Aswan Governor and Dr/ Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshouri _Faculty of Medicine dean and Dr/ Ihab Hanafy _Undersecretary of Ministry of Health in Aswan and head of southern Military Region_ witnessed the works of sterilization which implemented by the armed forces in Aswan University in Sahari.

Prof/ Ghallab emphasized that in frame of directives of state and governmental institutions to combat corona virus, sterilization has begun for second stage in University buildings in cooperation with armed forces which we appreciate its role in collaboration with national institutions in crisis management especially in combating corona virus.

He added that all precautionary measures which made by university to prevent the spread of corona virus are going in full swing, the university has taken many awareness initiatives in frame of state efforts and it scientific and research institutions to combat corona virus.

According to directives of ministry of Higher Education and scientific research to harness all scientific and productive potentials in Aswan University to combat Coronavirus and participation of production and engineering consultation unit in faculty of Energy engineering in cooperation with faculty of specific education to manufacture the medical masks.      

In frame of directives of Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of providing isolation places to combat Corona virus

Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed declared that Urology department was prepared whereas all medical requirements are provided and there are special entrances and exits with preparing (35) beds, and the medical staff have been trained On all preparations and how to deal with ventilators and prevention ways from Coronavirus.

Ghallab announced that the results of medical staff analyzes of those were in contact with the elderly woman who died after being infected with coronavirus were negative of first (9) cases, the rest of analysis result are under way, about (39) persons were in contact with her including (5) doctors, (2) workers and (31) nurses, They are staying at the university’s rest and are receiving the full care, All precautionary measures have been taken

Dr/ Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshouri _faculty of medicine dean explained that the case died during trying to treat her inside isolation hospital.

According to that Aswan university president decided to close the reception and intensive care sections until completing sterilization and disinfection procedures Among the precautionary measures taken by the hospital to prevent the spread of Corona virus and that in coordination with major general/ Ashraf Attia  _ Aswan Governor, Dr/ Ehab Hanafy_ Undersecretary of Ministry of Health in Aswan_ the new cases have been transferred to health insurance hospital temporarily until completing sterilization and disinfection procedures of university hospital.

Dr/Abdallaa Al-ebaidy_ Director General of university hospitals_ stated that samples were taken of those were in contact with the case that stayed 15 hours at hospital from nursing staff, doctors in Aswan university hospital who are 39 persons and they transferred to the rest of the university on airport way to spend incubation period for 14 day until the analysis results appear, with providing the full care by university administration.

Aswan University President witnesses the inauguration of martyr/ Amr Farid Abdel-Zaher’s name of a school in Sahari who was martyr of terrorism, The official language school in Sahara renamed to be martyr/ Amr Farid Abdul Zaher’s school and that was in attendance of Dr/ Sayed Al-Fayoumy_ Undersecretary of Ministry of Education in Aswan Governorate, Brigadier General/ Amr Abdel-Fattah_ Commander of Aswan Military Sector – as a deputy from Major General Commander of the Southern Military Region, and Mr/ Shari Saleh, Member of Parliament.

Prof/ Ghallab assured the marty’s position in defending homeland for Preservation of the land of homeland and the safety of its people

The university president added that Aswan University participates in preparing a banner with the school new name that turned to martyr/ Amr Farid Abdel-Zaher

Dr. El-Fayoumi thanked Aswan University for its continuous cooperation in memorizing the martyr, especially the martyr is a son of one of the university’s deans, Prof. Farid Abdel-Zahir, Dean of Faculty of Dar Al-Ulum, it states that the martyr was martyred in one of terrorist operations in Sinai on December 2018.

In frame of implementing Aswan university plan headed by Prof/ Mohmamed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan University president_ to combat corona virus particularly in applying e-learning system and working on uploading curriculums and daily follow up to all faculties for completing uploading all courses on University e-learning platform.

Faculty of medicine held a meeting in attendance of Prof/ Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshori _faculty of medicine dean and University Hospitals chairman of the board, Dr/ Mostafa Adam Al-Tiri _ Vice dean for Education and students affairs , Dr/ Abdallaa Mahmoud El-Ebaidy _Excutive manager of University hospitals, Dr/ Essam Abo El-Majd El-Sherif _ Head of Central Administration for Medical Affairs, the meeting covered the related topics of education process in frame of Directives of Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab _University president.

Prof/ El-Dahshouri said that they have accounted numbers of Interns, final year students and resident physicians of faculty of medicine and that for preparing and training them on ways to combat infection and deal with intensive care cases and also to follow up the disinfection and sterilization works carried out in university hospital

Prof/ El-Dahshouri emphasized that distance education is working well and all scientific courses have been uploaded for students on University website, academic staff is in contact with student, resident physicians, interns and final year students of faculty of medicine will be trained to deal with critical respiratory cases, intensive care cases and handling ventilators.

Prof/ El-Dahshouri stated that Hospital disinfection and sterilization works are in full swing and sterilization will be done more than once, noting that the results of medical staff samples who were in contact directly with the case have not yet appeared, and the reception and intensive care will be opened after the sterilization and disinfection works are completely completed and confirmed, and after the arrival of quick diagnosis supplies for cases, in order to ensure the safety of patients, medical staff and hospital personnel.

 

Aswan University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed held a meeting with University Students Union in attendance of student / Omar Aglan – President of Students Union and Dr. Mohamed Eid – Executive Director of Information Center and Dr. Sabry Salah El-Din – Adviser to Students Union of Aswan University.

Prof /Ghallab confirmed the importance role of students union, which represents the connection between Aswan University President and Students union.

and university president answered questions and concerns of his students, emphasizing the importance of harnessing all university capabilities in its various sectors and departments that work to find quick solutions to all obstacles that impede recent developments related to the way of presenting scientific material via e-learning which is applied according to the directives of Ministry of Higher Education and scientific research, which is an important step in distance education and in light of facing the Corona virus and prevention of overcrowding, following the precautionary procedures which  followed by the university to confront Corona virus.

At the end of the meeting, student / Omar Aglan – President of Students Union indicated that we appreciate university efforts in providing an e-learning platform in light of the exceptional circumstances of the country and seized this opportunity by sending a message of appreciation to Aswan President and its distinguished management.

 Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab – University President present a reassurance message to his students and confirmed that the right of  student will not be lost, whether in education or to overcome obstacles, and that the university administration stands beside its student through daily follow-up to the platform e-learning and in coordination with faculty deans and emphasizing on uploading educational courses.

The number of university hospitals reaches to (113) hospitals at republic level, and includes 35 thousand beds to serve 21 million annually.

In frame of state efforts and its institutions to combat Corona virus and according to the directives of Ministry of Higher Education and Higher Research in harnessing all scientific  capabilities in Aswan university to combat corona virus,

Aswan University president Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed declared that Faculty of Medicine will participate with its white army tomorrow, in Al-sadaka isolation hospital with integrated medical team in various medical specialties to participate in treatment of infected cases with Corona, so the Physicians of faculty of Medicine and university hospital are the safety valve and on the front lines to confront coronavirus at al-sadaka hospital.

Prof/ Ghallab added that scientific faculties as (science – agriculture and natural resources – medicine) have many research centers and researchers who may contribute through their scientific research to find solutions to treat Corona virus and to participate positively to reduce the seriousness spread of this epidemic.
