Aswan University signed an academic cooperation protocol with Nur Mubarak University of Islamic Culture in Almaty, Kazakhstan, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Religious Endowments. This cooperation comes within the framework of the university’s policy aimed at international openness and strengthening partnerships with prestigious universities in the Islamic world, thus supporting Egypt’s academic standing and enhancing its civilizational mission in spreading the values of moderation and cultural and scientific cooperation. The protocol was signed in the presence of Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Religious Endowments, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
The protocol was signed by Professor Dr. Loai Saad El-Din Nusrat, President of Aswan University, and Professor Dr. Ahmed Hussein Mohamed, President of Nur Mubarak University. It was decided to appoint Professor Dr. Mohamed Abu El-Sheikh, Dean of the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom at Aswan University, as the coordinator of academic cooperation, and his counterpart at Nur Mubarak University, Professor Dr. Mohamed El-Wardani, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies.
Prof. Loai Saad El-Din indicated that this protocol aims to strengthen academic and cultural cooperation between the two sides through the exchange of faculty members and students, the organization of joint scientific and research activities, the offering of dual graduate programs, and the holding of lectures, workshops, and scientific seminars, both in person and online.
The agreement also includes clear implementation mechanisms encompassing academic exchange, the organization of summer schools, joint supervision of master’s and doctoral theses, and the provision of academic and logistical support to ensure the success of joint programs.
This cooperation represents a significant step towards academic integration between scientific and religious institutions in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Kazakhstan, and reflects the Ministry of Religious Endowments’ commitment to supporting efforts to foster intellectual exchange with Central Asian countries.
