Course description for morphology and prosody:
First Year – Verb Conjugation:
Duration of Study: 4 hours – One semester
⇐ Course Objectives:
To gain a general understanding of morphology rules and to distinguish between Arabic structures.
By the end of the semester, the student will be able to:
Recognize the difference between verbs, nouns, and particles.
Understand the origins of morphology.
Recognize the morphological scale of words.
Recognize the basic and derived forms of verbs and their categories.
Understand what happens to a verb when it is conjugated with pronouns, etc.
⇐ Cognitive Skills:
Compare morphology and syntax.
Deduce the difference between nouns, verbs, and particles.
Distinguish between weak and sound verbs.
Analyze augmentative letters and their effects.
Understand the types of intransitive and transitive verbs.
To balance the effect of augmentation with moving and consonant pronouns.
To identify the basic and derived forms of verbs.
To understand the effect of vowel changes and substitutions on verb form.
