Second Edition of the “Creative Hopes with an Academic Vision” Exhibition

Under patronage of Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, President of the University, and the supervision of Prof. Iman Mohamed Wagdy, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research, and based on the Faculty’s vision to equip students with the skills and requirements of the job market, second-year students from the Department of Art Education participated in the second edition of the “Creative Hopes with an Academic Vision” exhibition, held at the Faculty of Commerce. The students’ participation included a diverse collection of artworks, including paintings and innovative handicrafts.

During his inspection of the students’ work, Prof. Nasrat praised the distinguished artworks through which the students expressed the visual identity of Aswan University. He emphasized that these creative works reflect an important aspect of revealing the abundant talent within Aswan University.

The University President also affirmed his support for developing students’ practical, scientific, and creative skills by providing a genuine platform to showcase their ideas and products in an environment that mirrors the demands of the job market. He stressed that such exhibitions represent a true link between academic study and the requirements of the job market. Prof. Iman Wagdy noted that the works presented by the college’s students in the exhibition ranged from paintings to handicrafts, representing an artistic project and a learning outcome for the Small Projects course. She emphasized that this participation stems from the state’s and the Ministry of Higher Education’s directives to link theoretical research with industry to meet the demands of the labor market.

She added that this exhibition resulted in the Faculty of Commerce adopting a specialized digital platform to showcase and market students’ artwork and to hold a tourism-themed exhibition, following the university president’s approval.

She also confirmed that the Faculty of Commerce, leveraging its expertise in the business sector, will open marketing channels for these projects in all bazaars, museums, and tourist venues in Aswan to connect students with the job market.

Fulbright Commission in Egypt Announces the Opening of Applications for Fully Funded Scholarships and Research Grants for the Academic Year 2027–2028

The Fulbright Commission in Egypt announces the opening of applications for a number of fully funded scholarships and research grants for the academic year 2027–2028, targeting Egyptian students and professors in various scientific and humanities fields, as well as programs for American experts and professors.

The Fulbright Commission in Egypt is an Egyptian-American organization established under a cooperation agreement between the Egyptian and U.S. governments in 1949. The commission has dedicated its efforts to strengthening ties between the two countries through educational and cultural exchange. The programs offered for the academic year 2027/2028 include the following grants:

First: Grants for Egyptian graduates, professors, and professionals to study, conduct research, and receive professional training in the United States:

Programs for university graduates and postgraduate students in Islamic Studies, including Master’s scholarships, PhD scholarships, and research and data collection grants for PhD students.

Joint supervision grants for PhD students in all fields.

Programs for Academic staff and researchers at universities and research centers, including postdoctoral research grants in all fields and MBA scholarships for leaders of universities and research centers in Egypt.

It is worth noting that these grants are fully funded, covering all expenses related to accommodation, health insurance, travel to and from the United States, as well as academic expenses.

Opening Nominations for the UNESCO-Russia Mendeleev International Prize in Basic Sciences (4th Edition – 2026)

The Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture announces the opening of nominations for the 2026 UNESCO-Russia Mendeleev International Prize in Basic Sciences (4th Edition). Established to promote scientific progress, simplify science for non-specialists, and strengthen international cooperation in basic sciences, this prize celebrates the legacy of Dmitri Mendeleev, the inventor of the periodic table of chemical elements, whose work shaped the future of chemistry, physics, biology, astronomy, and geochemistry, and laid the foundations for what is known today as sustainable development.

The prize is awarded annually to two individuals worldwide in recognition of their outstanding scientific discoveries and contributions to the advancement of basic sciences. Each winner receives US$250,000 and a gold medal.

Eligibility Requirements:

The candidate must have a record of scientific achievements that have had a significant impact on development at the regional or global level, based on the following:

– Excellence in research in the fields of basic science.

– Teaching and popularizing basic science.

– International or regional collaboration in the field of basic science.

– There are no age restrictions for candidates, and the award encourages nominations of female scientists.

A Scientific Seminar to Discuss the Research Plan Submitted by Researcher Doaa Hussein Mostafa at the Department of Linguistics

Under the patronage of Prof. Abdel-Hafiz Mostafa Abdel-Hady, Dean of the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom, and Prof. Magdy Ibrahim, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, a scientific seminar was held today, Tuesday corresponding to January 20, 2026, at the Department of Linguistics and Semitic and Oriental Studies. The seminar was dedicated to discussing the research plan submitted by the researcher Doaa Hussein Mostafa, in preparation for registration for the Master’s degree (external).

During the seminar, the researcher presented her research plan entitled:

The Impact of Cohesion and Coherence in the Diwan of Ibn Hamdis al-Siqilli (d. 527 AH): A Linguistic Study in Light of Text Linguistics Theory

The seminar was attended by Prof. Magdy Ibrahim and was supervised by Prof. Ihsan Abdel-Quddous Embabi, Professor of Linguistic Sciences and former Dean of the Faculties of Arts and Al-Alsun at Aswan University. They offered their scholarly remarks and sound guidance, which enriched the discussion and helped direct the research toward greater precision and academic depth.

The session was also attended by Academic staff, assistant staff, and researchers from the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom, adding scholarly richness to the discussion and fostering fruitful intellectual interaction.

Doctoral Dissertation Discussion Submitted by Researcher Ali Seddiq Amir

Doctoral Dissertation Discussion submitted by the researcher Ali Sediq Amir Omar was discussed on Thursday morning, January 15, 2026, at the Graduate Studies Sector of the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom. The dissertation, entitled “The Doctrine of Resurrection and the Hereafter between Ahl al-Sunnah and the Ibadis: A Comparative, Analytical, and Critical Study”, was awarded First-Class Honors.

Launch of Postgraduate Examinations at Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom – Aswan University

Under the patronage of Prof. Abdel-Hafiz Mostafa Abdel-Hadi, Dean of the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom at Aswan University, and Prof. Magdy Ibrahim, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, postgraduate examinations for the academic year 2025/2026 commenced on the morning of Sunday, January 11, 2026. These examinations include both Master’s and PhD programs.

Since the start of the examinations, the faculty has witnessed an atmosphere of discipline and organization, reflecting the administration’s commitment to providing a calm and suitable environment that enables students to perform their exams in the best possible manner.

Prof. Abdel-Hafiz Mostafa conducted an inspection tour inside the examination halls, accompanied by Prof. Magdy Ibrahim. Together, they followed up on the progress of the examination process and ensured its smooth conduct in accordance with the regulations applied at the university. They also praised the students’ commitment and the role of Academic staff and employees in organizing the examination committees and facilitating the examination process.

In this context, the faculty affirms its continuous commitment to advancing the level of postgraduate studies and scientific research, ensuring fairness and equal opportunities for all students. Launch of the Third Edition of the Egyptian Student Participation Survey for the Academic Year 2025/2026

Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Baset Eid Wins the Sawiris Cultural Award in Literary Criticism

Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom at Aswan University—represented by Prof. Abdelhafiz Mostafa Abdelhady, Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Magdy Mohamed Ibrahim, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research; along with Academic staff, the assisting staff, administrative employees, and students—extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Baset Eid, a Lecturer in the Department of Rhetoric, Literary Criticism, and Comparative Literature, on winning the Sawiris Cultural Award in its twenty-first edition.

The award was granted for his book “Khibā’ Al-Naqd wa Al-Shi‘r” (A Repository of Poetry and Literary Criticism), published by Dar Al-Ain for Publishing, in the field of literary criticism and narrative studies.

The award results were announced during the ceremony held at Ewart Hall at the Tahrir Cultural Center of the American University in Cairo, in the presence of a distinguished group of leading figures in thought, culture, and the arts.

The faculty expresses its great pride in this outstanding scholarly and cultural achievement, wishing him continued success and further scientific and creative contributions.

Aswan University president and Faculty Dean Inspect the First-Semester Exams for the Academic Year 2025/2026

Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, President of Aswan University, and Prof. Abdel-hafiz Mostafa, Dean of the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom, conducted an inspection tour to ensure the progress of the first-semester examinations at the faculty for the academic year 2025/2026. During the tour, His Excellency confirmed compliance with the regulations governing examination performance and the implementation of all procedures necessary to create a suitable atmosphere for students inside the examination halls, provide comfort, and maintain calmness and discipline. He also listened to the opinions and comments of a number of students inside the halls regarding the level of the examinations and the conditions under which they were conducted, affirming his keenness to monitor the regularity of examinations across the various faculties.

The President of the University emphasized the necessity of adhering to the decisions of the University Council regarding examinations, which include mechanisms for printing question papers and securing their confidentiality, prohibiting mobile phones and the possession of any technological devices that may subject students to accountability, and ensuring the presence of specialized course professors inside the examination halls to respond to students’ inquiries and address any issues that may arise during examinations. He also stressed the importance of ensuring the proper functioning of medical clinics and the availability of doctors and nursing staff to handle any emergency cases, thereby enabling students to sit for their exams with ease.

The Dean of the Faculty stressed the importance of immediate intervention to resolve any emergency issues, full compliance with all rules and regulations set by the University Council, and adherence to the guidelines established by the Supreme Council of Universities. He emphasized placing students’ interests at the top of priorities, with zero tolerance for any violations that may affect the examination system in terms of order and discipline. He also highlighted the preparation of special examination committees for students with disabilities and the availability of assistants to support them. Furthermore, he underscored the need for firm action against any attempts at cheating within examination halls, as well as the necessity to begin grading immediately after the completion of each exam, activate the role of examiners’ committees, and promptly announce results following the completion of accurate recording and thorough review processes.

Faculty Dean Inspects the First-Semester Examinations for the Academic Year 2025/2026

In implementation of the directives of Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, President of Aswan University, emphasizing the importance of continuous follow-up of the examination process, Prof. Abdel-Hafiz Mostafa Abdel-Hadi, Dean of Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom at Aswan University, conducted an inspection tour on Sunday morning, December 28, 2025, to monitor the progress of the first-semester examinations for the academic year 2025/2026.

During the tour, His Excellency reassured himself of the regularity of the examination committees, the availability of a calm and suitable atmosphere for students, and adherence to the instructions and regulations governing examination procedures. He stressed the importance of providing comfort for students, treating them well, and ensuring the principle of equal opportunities within examination halls, while taking the necessary legal measures to prevent any attempts at cheating, thereby guaranteeing the integrity of the examination process.

He also reviewed the examination papers in terms of the number of questions, their coverage of the course content, their alignment with course objectives, and their suitability for the time allocated for the exam. He noted that examinations are conducted according to the objective-question system and in line with the approved technical specifications for examination papers, allowing for the assessment of various levels of student performance.

Prof. Abdel-Hafiz Mostafa listened to students’ opinions regarding the nature of the questions, praising their discipline within the examination halls and their adherence to the prescribed regulations. He also commended the presence and commitment of Academic staff, teaching assistants, floor supervisors, and control committee members, emphasizing that such commitment contributes to maintaining order and smooth workflow within examination committees.

At the conclusion of the tour, the Dean affirmed that the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom is mobilizing all its capabilities to provide an appropriate examination environment that meets quality standards, ensuring the accuracy of results and their prompt announcement.
