Aswan University participated with Lake Nasser development authority, General Authority for Reconstruction Projects and Agricultural Development, Desert Research Center, soil, water& environment research Institute and a group of professors and heads of Egyptian universities in the National project for Reclamation and planting 1 million acres and residential areas committee and that in frame of achieving Egypt’s vision 2030 for sustainable development.

 

Aswan University Council discusses preparations for first semester exams

Today, Aswan University Council No. 102 was held headed by Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan university President_ and in attendance of Major General Ashraf Attia_Aswan Governor, Prof. Ayman Othman, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Magdy Mohammed Ali_Vice President for Community Service and Environment Development, Faculties Deans and University President Advisors.

Aswan University Council discussed preparations for the first semester exams, that included discussing Aswan University’s plan for preparations for the first semester exams works of providing well-ventilated halls for exams committees and taking into account the social distancing of one and a half meters between each student, with wearing medical masks in all faculties and implementing all precautionary measures in light of confronting Corona virus, for the safety of students, Academic staff, their assistants and all employees at Aswan University, and working on harnessing all the university’s capabilities to conduct examinations process and to work for the success of the first semester exams under the country’s exceptional circumstances the Council approved to appoint a number of Academic staff and their assistants in positions of Lecturer and assistant professor, and awarding academic degrees.

On the sidelines of the council, student/ Islam Youssef_ head of Students Union_ presented the Union Shield to Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ University President, appreciating to his fruitful efforts to upgrade the university and his support to student activities during the previous period in light of confronting Corona virus.

Aswan University announces the first contest of Entrepreneurship for its students

Under patronage of Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University president, Prof. Mahmoud Sakr_ President of Academy of scientific research and technology,  The Entrepreneurship Club at Aswan University announces the first contest for Entrepreneurship in Aswan University entitled “Aswan University students are Distinguished Entrepreneurs”

Contest terms:

the contest is divided into two parts, the first for individuals and the second for teams.

As for the participating teams, they must be divers specialties from university students (at least two different specialties).

This is in addition to the entrepreneurial ideas and presented projects, and it is also preferable that actual steps have been taken in the entrepreneurial project.

Requests will be received for participation and presenting works from 17-30th January 2020.

Important announcement

General/ Mohamed Zaki_ Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, ratified accepting a new batch of officers in charge of the military status from Physicians with master’s / doctoral degrees to work as officers in charge of the military status as of July 2021.

First: general           

It has been decided to accept a new batch of physicians with master’s / doctoral degrees to work as officers charged with the armed forces with a military status of July 2021 batch

Second: General terms:

  • The candidate, his parents and grandparents must be Egyptians and not acquired nationality or are applying for the nationality of another country.
  • He should not have been convicted of a criminal sanction or an offence involving dishonor.
  • He must be good conduct and behavior.
  • The recruitment position should be attached and extracted from the recruitment department or from the candidate’s recruitment area.
  • He should be medically fit in accordance with the conditions of medical fitness mandated by the General Military Medical Council.
  • He should pass the psychological tests successfully.
  • Passing the personal test (body disclosure) according to the assessment of the examination committee.
  • the candidate submits written undertakings that guarantee full compliance with the conditions for applying for mandate of military status, with an assurance that the data included in the acceptance papers, on the basis of which the candidate’s acceptance was made, is correct throughout his stay in the armed forces (the mandate period).
  • the candidate adheres to wearing the military uniform applicable in the armed forces. Those who have performed military service as a reserve officer cannot be a candidate for mandate of military status. Third: terms that must be met by the candidate:
  • Physicians who have obtained a master’s degree, that the age should not exceed 34 years in 1/7/2021
  • Physicians who have obtained a doctorate degree, the age should not exceed 38 years in 01/07/2021
  • The grade should not be less than good in the bachelor’s – master’s – doctorate
  • passing the internship period

Fourth: The period of mandate in the military status:

– The ministerial decree of mandate is issued for two years and renewed one year after another, for a maximum of four years.

– The period of mandate in the military status and the advantages enjoyed by the taxpayer.

Fifth: the privileges enjoyed by the taxpayer:

  • Free treatment for the assigned officer of all grades, he and his family (wife and children) if he is male, but if he is a female, then free treatment is for her and her children only, and the husband does not benefit from this privilige as the right of bail is limited to the husband and not the wife.
  • The officer assigned to the military status of those with university or equivalent qualifications is granted an honorary military grade equivalent to the grade of colleague of the armed forces officer who has obtained his university qualification or equivalent.
  • After the assignment period ends, the officer in charge of the military status is granted an experience certificate.
  • After the assignment period ends, the officer assigned to the military status shall be given a statement of his service period in the armed forces to present to his civil work authority to include it for the period of his service after his retirement.
  • The assigned officer appointed to the government that the employer shall bear the salary, bonuses and allowances that have a permanent status, and the taxpayer is considered on secondement during the period of his assignment to the armed forces and he has priority in appointing and maintaining his civil position according to Article 17 of Law 87 of 1960.
  • The designated officer who is not appointed by the government receives a salary from the armed forces equal to the salary of his military colleague who has the same qualification in his year of graduation including bonuses, military allowances and other benefits.
  • In all cases, the armed forces bear the bonuses, military allowances, and other privileges determined for their counterpart in the armed forces.

J – After completing his assignment, the taxpayer is granted a 9% bonus for those not appointed in the government.

Aswan University President inspected the national projects in preparation for opening them soon

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President _ declared that in frame of state’s concern of Egyptian universities and the development that Aswan University and Aswan University Hospitals are witnessing, the University has received Prof. Anwar Ismail _Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for National Projects and the visit included inspecting the national projects and the works that are in full swing at Aswan University in Sahari headquarters on an area of ​​400 acres, including the new administrative building, Aswan University Sports Stadium, a group of multi-purpose playgrounds, the Olympic swimming pool and beach ball courts. And development of Faculty of Science laboratories, new garage, the maintenance workshops for university cars, the summer and winter theater, the infrastructure works, and the redrawing and planning of internal roads in university headquarter in Sahari.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ University President_ and Prof. Anwar Ismail_ Assistant Minister for National Projects_ visited the new campus in Aswan Al-Gadeda to follow up the implementation of construction and national projects that are in full swing in university branch in Aswan Al-Gadeda, which includes 9 buildings on an area of ​​98.5 acres, that includes the buildings of Faculties of Arts, laws, Dar Al-Uloom, Nursing, Medicine, Tourism and Hotels, Languages ​​and Translation, Archeology, commerce, university medical facilities, and specialized medical centers in Aswan Al-Gadeda, which are being implemented.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the visit included inspecting the comprehensive development of Aswan University Hospital, by adding about 300 beds, adding many operating rooms, intensive care and other medical services. 85% of construction project of internal medicine Hospital has been implemented. The internal medicine Hospital consists of 5 floors. The hospital includes 150 beds distributed in general and private internal medicine departments, Neurosurgery, cardiology, oncology, thoracic, dermatological and physical therapy.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University President_ indicated that they also inspected the project of establishment of a reception and emergency hospital that consists of a 4-stories basement, A central restaurant, dining halls, sterilization rooms, central laundries, and development of orthopedic, internal medicine and urology departments. Another 150 beds will be located in the surgical, trauma emergency, intensive care, radiology and laboratory departments.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab stated that the university hospital receives more than 1,400 cases in reception and emergency departments every day. It performs 2,500 various surgeries per month. The current clinical capacity reaches 415 beds. 75% of the bed capacity will be added after the completion of the current expansion projects.

The visit included inspecting the new hemodialysis department with a capacity of 56 machines, covering the provision of curative service to patients during the current period. Aswan University signs a cooperation protocol with Ministry of Endowments to train imams and preachers

 Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_Aswan University President, stated that Aswan University signed a cooperation protocol in attendance of Dr. Mohamed Mokhtar Joma and Major General /Ashraf Attia, Aswan Governor, and that for training imams and preachers, which aims to rehabilitate imams and develop their intellectual and cultural capabilities towards the sciences of the Qur’an, the Sunnah and various current religious issues. Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that signing the protocol included cooperation between the Ministry of Endowments and Aswan University regarding training imams and preachers to increase awareness and education about current issues in several fields, including in the sciences of Arabic language and their fields in psychology, communication skills and the art of recitation, and the protocol included the Faculties of Arts, Dar Al-uloom, And social work, Medicine.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab pointed out that it was agreed between the two parties to open registration for masters and doctorates at the university for imams and preachers, and that the Ministry of Endowments would bear the study expenses and this is in frame of state’s concern for imams and preachers, developing religious discourse and fighting destructive ideas.

 

 

Information Technology institute anticipate opening its branch in Aswan with graduating a new batch of trainees

Today, the first day for discussing graduation projects for students of Information technology institute and that in Software Engineering fundamentals via video conference technology, the discussions were under supervision of Eng. Ahmed Salem_ director of Egypt digital innovation center in Aswan and in attendance of Dr. Mohamed Eid _Diretor of Information and communication network center in Aswan University, Eng. Ahmed Saleh _Director of Egypt digital innovation Centre in Qena.

It was obvious through the discussions of the professional level projects which were presented also the experiences which were acquired by students during their studies at the institute.

It worth noting that the Ministry of communication and information Technology had signed an agreement with Aswan University to establish a headquarter of Egypt digital innovation center (creativa) inside university which contain branches to Information technology institute and information technology innovation & Entrepreneurship center and the national communication institute, that the finishing works of the new headquarter will be completed at the end of February 2021, that all training works of the institute will be transferred to the new headquarters as soon as it is completed, that the efforts of Aswan university and ministry of communication and information technology to prepare new generations of young people who are able to compete with high-quality products in the global software market.

Information technology institute in cooperation with Aswan University and the Arab Academy for science and technology announces holding a course entitled “IT Egypt 101 train of trainers”

  • The course aims to support Egyptian universities efforts in adding more diverse topics to computer courses presented to their students.
  • The course is a free scholarship.
  • Registration is available for academic staff and their assistants from Aswan University and the Arab Academy for science and technology.
  • The duration of the course is 45 hours.
  • The course will be held from 24th January 2021 until 4th February 2021, the study is from Sunday to Thursday every week from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm in the first week and from 9:00 to 12:30 in the second week

Aswan University President receives Dr. Mamdouh Al-Domyati _ Former Minister of Antiquities, preparing for establishing postgraduate studies at Faculty of Archeology

Today, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_Aswan UNiversity President met Dr. Mamdouh Al-Domyati_ Former Minister of Antiquities and Head of Antiquities Sector Committee in university headquarter in Sahari.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University President, confirmed that the aim of the visit is to increase technical support and inspect Faculty of Archeology preparing for the establishment of postgraduate studies at Faculty of Archeology in Aswan, in attendance of Prof. Ayman Othman, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Badawi Ismail_ Dean of Faculty of Archeology in Luxor and a member of the  Antiquities Committee in the supreme council of universities, Dr. Gharib Mahmoud Taha_ Dean of Faculty of Archeology in Aswan_ and Dr. Omar Abo Zaid, Vice-Dean of Faculty of Archeology in Aswan.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab accompanied by Dr. Mamdouh Al-Damati and the accompanying delegation on an inspection tour in the university to find out the latest field, educational developments, logistical capabilities and human resources in the faculty. On the sidelines of this visit, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University President_ presented to Dr. Mamdouh Al-Damati_ Former Minister of Antiquities_ a shield and medal of Aswan University in honor of his efforts in field of monuments and his scientific contributions in serving and advancing monuments sector. They discussed during the meeting the development of Faculty of Archeology at Aswan University and its role in Africa and preserving archaeological sites in Africa and discuss ways of cooperation between UNESCO and Faculty of Archeology _ Aswan University_ and how to apply ways of interest and projects in field of monuments and museums.
