Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_Aswan University President announced that all theoretical, practical and oral examinations for all study teams in different faculties as well as postgraduate studies have been postponed until after the mid-year vacation, based on the decision of Ministers Council, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Supreme Council of Universities as a precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Corona virus, in order to ensure the health and safety of all university employees, students, Academic staff and workers.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ university President, added that teaching curricula for undergraduate and postgraduate studies will be completed, starting next Saturday, corresponding to 2^nd January  2021, and until the end of the first semester of the 2020/2021 with the system of distance education, explaining that the timeline will be announced For the exams later after completing the mid-year vacation.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan University president_ inspected today the book fair and follow up implementing all precautionary measures when entering the university gate and self-sterilization gates as well as wearing medical masks, maintaining social distancing, sterilizations and spraying works which take place periodically in university facilities, to ensure safety of students, employees, visitors especially in light of holding the book fair in faculty of agriculture in university headquarter in sahari.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the book fair witnesses large turnout from students of different faculties, Academic staff, their assistants, employees, the outside public for getting books in various sciences whereas the book fair is distinguished by the diversity of participating publishing houses that reach to 20 publishing houses.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the book prices are affordable for everyone and suitable for different ages.

University president thanked Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem _Minister of culture _ on this cultural and cognitive cooperation for Aswan people, the book fair will be concluded tomorrow from 24 to 31 December 2020 which includes 3 thousand books in different sciences.      

Today, Aswan University council No.101 headed by Prof. Ahmed Ghalab Mohamed _University president _ and in attendance of Prof. Ayman Osman _ Vice president for graduate studies and research, Dr. Magdy Mohamed Ali _ vice president for society service and environment development and in attendance of faculty deans, university presidents advisers.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab welcomed the attendees and congratulated students, Academic staff and employees on occasion of Christmas and New Year, wishing safety for everyone.

The council congratulate faculty of science on adoption of faculty program from National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education and congratulate the elected president and vice president and members of students’ union on occasion of their winning.

Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab confirmed the importance of finalizing university medical and health projects of University hospitals that Aswan University hospital witnesses development in all departments which is considered a destination for all patients in Aswan Governorate and Upper Egypt for receiving treatment service and that through rehabilitation and raise the efficiency of cadres and medical expertise.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that University hospital witnesses establishing many of buildings as hospital of internal medicine and pediatrics with a capacity of 150 beds, included dialysis unit which was completed by 85% that will help in developing the medical and health system in university hospitals.

The council discussed implementing educational and sports constructions which are going on in full swing at university headquarter in Sahari and Aswan Al-gadeda.

The council discussed university plan for preparations of first semester exams works from providing well-ventilated halls for exams committees and maintaining social spacing  1.5 meters between every student with wearing masks in all faculties with applying all precautionary measures in light of confronting corona virus, for safety of students, academic staff, their assistants and university employees and working on providing all university potentials for exams and working on the success of first semester exams in light of the exceptional circumstances of country which are going through at the current time.     

The council approved to appoint a group of Academic staff and their assistants in Jobs of “Lecturer – assistant professor” and grant scientific degrees.               

Today, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan University president_ inspected the book fair at the university and  follow up applying all the precautionary measures while entering university, self-sterilizing gates from wearing medical masks, maintaining safe distance, sterilization and spraying works which implemented in university facilities, out of concern of  university students and employees and visitors safety especially in light of staging of the book fair in faculty of Agriculture at university headquarter in Sahari.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added at the opening of the book fair in Aswan University which was opened by Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem _Minister of culture_ that will be held until 31 December, in attendance of Major General/ Ashraf Attia _ Aswan governor, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan university president. The minister of culture honored university leaderships, at its head prof. Ahmed Ghallab _Aswan University_ appreciating to their prominent roles in developing university new facilities as playgrounds, university stadium, educational buildings that  serve the educational system in Aswan, appreciating all the efforts and fruitful cooperation in holding the book fair in the university for this year in light of applying all the precautionary measures to confront corona virus.

Minister of culture honored Prof .  Ayman Othman _  Vice president for graduate studies and research appreciating for his role in scientific research and graduate studies in university.

Prof. Ayman Othman indicated that the culture and knowledge are the most important factors of nation’s progress, reading, intellectual and cultural inspiration source, the book considers the loyal friend. The book fair includes more than 20 publishing house, including various books for all ages which reach to 3 thousand books and stories that are available for all students and visitors.        

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan University president_ witnessed the workshop and the visit of quality assurance and accreditation in the university and that in attendance of Prof/ Nadi Kamal Aziz_ Director of quality assurance and accreditation unit, Prof/ Adel Mekky _Faculty of Physical Education dean and Centre administrative group_ the visit was for presenting technical support for Faculty of Physical Education.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab _assured the importance of reviewing all faculty files which have not been approved until following the rest of faculties that granted accreditation in light of program and institutional accreditation standards from national authority for education quality assurance in Egypt.

Prof. Ghallab added that these visits and workshops working on spreading quality culture between Academic staff, their assistants, employees and students in the faculty,  preparing for stepping up to the projects which are presented by projects administration in Ministry of higher education and research.     

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University president_ declared that in frame of activating university plan for students’ activities while facing the second wave of COVID 19 with applying all precautionary and protective measures. Today sports festival events of Egyptian universities have been concluded under the slogan Sports excellence festival of the academic year 2020/2021 and during the period from 6^th to 14^th August 2020 which was held in university playgrounds complex in sahary.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ University president _ added that this festival was held under patronage of Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar _Minister of higher Education and scientific research, Dr/ Ashraf Sobhy _Minister of Youth and sports and prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan University president, and under supervision of Ahmed Abd Rabo_ General Director of the General Administration of Sports Activity of Universities in Sports and youth ministry, Hatim Yousry Yossif _General director of youth welfare in Aswan university, Ahmed Taky Kasem_ director of sports activity department, the events of sports festival included many of sports as five-a-side football, volleyball, basketball, Darts, kayak 50 meter sprint, Recreational Sports, with participation of 432 students from 19 faculty and institute in Aswan University, at the conclusion of the festival, medals and prizes were distributed for the first three positions with total of 156 winner.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan University president_ participated in the annual workshop organized by Fulbright commission for university leaderships in cooperation with Ministry of Higher Education and research that has been held from 10-12^th December 2020 in Hurghada with participation of 12 university president and 12 vice presidents and scientific research Academy presidents in attendance of Dr. Brayen darmody_ Executive director of research cities union of universities in USA and members of Fulbright commission office.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab _Aswan University president _declared that the workshop included many of higher education leaderships in Egypt and it included the discussion of university Education systems E-learning system and its modern means in light of confronting corona virus and how to overcome obstacles which face its application, discussing the goals and plans of new private universities and educational programs proposed for implementation in private universities.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that this participation comes in frame of continues cooperation between Aswan University and Fulbright commission and international scientific agencies to create better opportunities and scholarships for Academic staff and researchers in different specializations in university and working on research fields that contribute in optimizing the value of scientific research in Aswan University which achieved many highest positions in international rankings.  

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan university president _said that we are working on developing Aswan university hospitals and restructuring it and connect it with modern technology and that for raising the efficiency of cadres and medical expertise for serving Aswan and upper Egypt patients and that in frame of state’s concern of citizens’ health and the full support provided by Ministry of Higher education and scientific research of university hospitals.

Dr. Mohamed Zaki Dahshouri _Faculty of Medicine dean_ added that in frame of development that Aswan University hospital is witnessing under patronage of Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan University president _ who pay great attention to the completion of medical projects of medical facilities in Aswan universities hospitals and that to develop the medical service and upgrading the medical system.

Dr. Ashraf Mebed _Executive director of Aswan University hospitals_ indicated that work is currently underway in all departments, and today the installation and commissioning the remote medical diagnoses and treatment unit has been done under patronage of Abdel-Fattah El-sisi _president of Republic_ and that in radiation department in University hospital to serve patients in all departments in Aswan University hospital
