Aswan University celebrates the global day of special needs for the 8th week of presidential initiative “sport is national security”

Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed witnessed the event of the presidential initiative “Sport is national security” and that for 8th week in a row from its launching with the beginning of the Academic year from 17th October 2020 under patronage of Ministry of Higher Education and scientific research and the supreme council of universities which organized by Faculty of Physical Education in cooperation with the central administration of Youth Welfare in University stadium under patronage of Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar _Minister of Higher Education and scientific research _and under supervision of Dr. Sobhy Mohamed Hassanain _ Vice president of University Sport federation, Dr. Hesham Al-Jiushy _Federation Secretary.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the presidential initiative “sport is national security” witnessed a number of sports and students activities which organized by sport administration department in Faculty of Physical Education coincide with the global day celebration of persons with special needs in participation with schools of special needs in Education, Youth and sports Directorates through a number of youth centers and Arab Contractors Nile club, Rowing club and that for the participation of special needs in sports activities under the initiative which launched by Abdel-Fattah Al-sisi _Rebublic president_ and Aswan University is working on providing  a chance to practice sports as a right for all  in Aswan and that through playgrounds and sport facilities in Aswan University to be a core of sports  infrastructure in addition to University stadium which witness hosting some Egyptian league matches with staying Aswan sports club at the premier league.

Dr. Adel Mekky _faculty of Physical Education dean _indicated that the events of the presidential initiative”Sports is national security” come on Sunday and Tuesday of every week on university playgrounds and coincide with sport events this week with the global day of special needs which will be launched in attendance of A group of Academic staff in faculty and Dr. Waleed Rizk, Dr. Mohamed Hamid in Sports in Administration department and in participation with Graduate studies students that include cultural, recreational, entertainment and artistic sport shows in Aswan University stadium.

Aswan University president: accrediting the geology program at faculty of Science from national authority for Quality Assurance and accreditation of Education

In light of the boom witnessed by Aswan University headed by Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed in Education and research, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab announces accrediting the geology program at faculty of Science _Aswan University.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab indicated that power engineering in faculty of Engineering_ Aswan University was accredited before.

This is working on encouraging the two faculties for accrediting other programs as civil engineering at faculty of Engineering and Geophysics at faculty of Science and others programs.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that Faculties of Engineering and Science and other faculties have the expertise which qualify them to programatic or institutional accreditations and that serve the educational and research system in Aswan University.      

Prof. Nadi Kamal Aziz _ Manager of Quality Assurance and accreditation Centre in Aswan University_ added that the Centre receives great attention and care under patronage of Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, the Centre is prepared to present technical support to faculties to qualify it to accreditation as faculty of Agriculture and natural resources, Faculty of Energy Engineering which got a project from Ministry of higher Education in Projects administration unit to provide accreditation in addition to moral and financial support which presented by University president to develop the educational system according to quality assurance and accreditation standards.

 

Aswan University signs a cooperation protocol with ministry of Agriculture and land reclamation for land taxonomy studies

Aswan University president Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed signs a cooperation protocol entitled” land taxonomy studies”

Aswan University president Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _declared that the representatives of Ministry of agriculture and land reclamation and desert research Centre _represented by president of desert research Centre Dr / AbdallaaKasemZaghlol_witnessed assigning the protocol and that in frame of the role of Egyptian universities as Aswan and Assiut Universities.

Aswan University president Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab added that believing in the importance of scientific research and working on exchanging scientific experiences and carrying out specialized research and studies in lands and water fields between scientific foundationsto serve agriculture development in our beloved Egypt, Whereas Aswan university have research and scientific potentials in many fields and lands studies through faculty of agriculture and natural resources. The importance of signing this protocol is to achieve full benefit from Aswan University scientists’ capabilities in field of land reclamation. Prof/AhmedGhallab Mohamed _referred to the importance of desert research Centre as a prominent scientific institution locally and internationally that itis the expertise Centre in field of developmental work in Egyptian deserts. Aware of the importance of Egyptian universities as a prominent scientific institution locally and internationally that have leading technical cadres and expertise in different fields of land studies.

According to the mission of Ministry of agriculture and land reclamation and consistent with the directives of political leadership and society needs from achieving Productiveabundance and food security whether in vertical or horizontal expansion.

Aswan University hospital signs a cooperation protocol with Abu Simple International hospital for exchange medical expertise

Aswan University president Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed declared that in frame of development which witnessed by Aswan University hospitals from structural, medical surge and working on training the medical cadres and nursing staff to upgrade health system and working on presenting outstanding medical service for Aswan governorate and upper Egypt people, University hospital signed many treatment protocols and exchanging medical and health expertise and in this academy and training frame, Prof/ Mohamed Zaki Al-Dhahshouri _Faculty of Medicine_ added that Aswan university hospitals witness signing a cooperation protocol with Abu Simble International Hospital and that in attendance of Dr/ Mohamed Abo El-Footoh _ Manager of Abu Simble international hospital, Dr. Essam Abo El-Majd _ Manager of surgical University hospital.

Aswan University president witnesses the ceremony of university Centre for career development

Aswan University president Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed witnesses the ceremony of university Centre for career development (UCCD) in Aswan University and handed over certificates for the first batch of Aswan University students who benefits from the Centre and that under patronage of Aswan University president Prof / Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed and in attendance of Prof / Magdi Mohamed Ali _Vice president for community service and environment development, Dr/ Aml Abdel-Wahed _Project manager _and a group of faculties deans and representatives of some companies and private entities.

Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab _University president _ confirmed in his speech that Aswan University was one of the first universities that participated in University Centre project in Egyptian university which is implemented in cooperation with the American university in Cairo and with support of united states agency for international development, the Centre was opened in January 2020 and in attendance of Dr/ Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar _Minister of Higher education and scientific research and President of the American University, manager of the united states  agency for international development and in attendance of Maj.Gen/ Ashraf Attia _Aswan Governor _ and a group of Egyptian Universities presidents.

Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab added that the Centre is working on qualifying students to labor market through a group of practical trainings and professional development services; the Centre also works on permanent communication to connect university with labor market needs.

Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab hands over appreciation certificates to some of representatives of private sectors who cooperated through many activities which aims to students’ service including chairman of board of directors of Al-Salam Academy group and chairman of board of directors of makani restaurant, Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab _honored a group of students in the Centre for their efforts throughout the year to work in the Centre.

It is worth noting that the Centre in light of Corona virus epidemic continues in presenting its services to student in 2020 and transforming to work online, the Beneficiaries from the Centre services are 3363 students through this year.

Holding Aswan University Council No. 100

Today, Aswan University Council No. 100 was held headed by Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed, University President, and in attendance of Major General /Ashraf Attia_ Aswan Governor, and in attendance of Prof. Ayman Othman_ Vice President for graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Majdi Mohamed Ali_ Vice President for Community Service and Environment Development, in attendance of faculties deans. Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ University President _ opened the session with welcoming Major General .Ashraf Attia_Aswan Governor_ and thanked him on behalf of University Council for his full support for Aswan University and for the fruitful cooperation at the service of Aswan people. 

 Prof. Ahmed Ghallab stressed the importance of completing the university’s medical and health projects of university hospitals, as Aswan University Hospital is witnessing development in different departments, which is a destination for all patients of Aswan Governorate and patients in southern Upper Egypt governorates to receive treatment service through the rehabilitation and rasing the efficiency of Medical cadres and expertise.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the University Hospital in Aswan is witnessing establishing many new buildings, such as the internal medicine and paediatrics Hospital, with a capacity of 150 beds and includes a dialysis unit, which has been completed with 85%, which gives a great breakthrough by entering the service soon, and by that the medical and health system in university hospitals will be developed. .

Work is also underway at the emergency hospital building, which includes 4 operating rooms, intensive care, sterilization unit, restaurant, radiology unit and modern radiology laboratories. 

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab explained that rehabilitation and upgrading of departments of University Hospital in Aswan are underway, such as emergency department, urology department, internal medicine department, reception department, and orthopedic department, and a comprehensive development for the gas network, alarm system, mechanics and regular work is done with the completion of the installations of the central restaurant, which includes 2 dining halls and a central laundry.

The council discussed university’s plan for the regularity of educational process in different faculties and with applying precautionary measures in light of confronting Corona virus, in order to ensure the safety of students, Academic staff, their assistants and all university employees.

The Council also approved a cooperation protocol with Ministry of Social Solidarity to establish a unit for social solidarity at the university to serve students.

The council approved the nomination of Prof. Kamal Abo Al-Majd_ Professor Emeritus in Geology Department in faculty of Science, to be awarded the State Merit Award for Basic Sciences for 2020

The council approved the nomination of Prof. Ahmed Mohamed Abdel- Dayem_Professor of Grammar, Morphology and Prosody_ for the State Merit Award in Literature for 2021

The council approved the establishing joint professional diploma to develop and train Egyptian engineers for a basic output of the European Partnership project of ERAFMUS + supported by the European Union.

The Council approved appointment of a number of Academic staff and their assistants for positions of “lecturer – assistant professor”.

Aswan University President and the governor lay the foundation stone for sports facilities in Sahari

Today, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President_ and Major General . Ashraf Attia_ Aswan Governor_ inspected sports facilities on campus in attendance of Prof. Ayman Othman_ Vice President for graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Majdi Mohamed Ali_ Vice President for Community Service and Environment Development, Dr. Mohamed Zakaria, the University’s Engineering Adviser, and Mr. Hussein Abdel- Latif_ University Secretary General.

Major General. Ashraf Attia_ Aswan  Governor_ and Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan university President_ laid the foundation stone for sports facilities, including the Olympic swimming pool and beach soccer field. The Olympic swimming pool includes swimming pool bleachers as well as the annex building to it and training halls on an area of ​​2 acres to serve faculty of Physical Education students and sports community In Aswan.

Ashraf Attia_Aswan Governor, expressed his happiness to being inside Aswan University, which has become a scientific, cultural and artistic edifice with its various scientific specializations, and which has become a source of pride for the people of Aswan Governorate for what the university has achieved in terms of scientific centers and international rankings, and the university is witnessing a boom in sports facilities to serve our students Who represent the future leaders.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University President confirmed that the university is witnessing an unprecedented boom in all fields of engineering, sports, agricultural and medical projects to serve students and Aswan community in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi_ President of the Republic_ and working on embracing the presidential initiative “Sports is National Security”. The tour included inspecting the university’s sports stadium, including the stands and locker rooms for players, referees’ rooms, physiotherapy rooms, and administrative rooms at the latest level on an area of ​​4 acres.

Dr. Mohamed Zakaria_ University’s Engineering Advisor_ added that there is an engineering plan through the Engineering Consultant Center to conduct appropriate designs, studies and drawings for these projects under the supervision of the center, which includes a group of Academic staff led by Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ university  President_ to implement Aswan University fields  Complex, which includes University’s stadium, and many courts for five-a-side football, basketball, volleyball and handball, as well as tennis courts, beach ball courts, and Olympic swimming pool approved to host international and regional tournaments.

Aswan University hospital announces conducting kidney transplant soon

Aswan University president Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed declared that in frame of implementing state and Higher education ministry directives to raise the efficiency of University hospitals and working on reducing burden on patient in Aswan and upper Egypt governorates, and a preparatory meeting was held headed by Dr. Mohamed Zaki Dahshouri_ Faculty of Medicine dean and Director of  Kidney transplant program at Aswan University Hospital_ in order to know the readiness of Aswan University Hospital in preparation for inviting the specialized committee through the Ministry of Health to start kidney transplant at Aswan University Hospital, in attendance of Dr. Ashraf Mebed_ Executive manager of Aswan University Hospitals.

Dr. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshouri _ Faculty of Medicine Dean_ added that the Urology department is being developed,   in preparing for conducting kidney transplant operations in university hospital. The meeting was attended by members of Urology department, Nephrology department, and clinical pathology department, Anesthesiology department, the staff has been trained in major specialized hospitals such as Dr. Mohamed Ghonaim center  in Mansoura, in order to prepare the qualified manpower scientifically, medically and administratively, Working on providing all necessary means as devices, laboratories, intensive care operating rooms, after performing kidney transplant surgeries and the important preparations for receiving the committee entrusted with granting licenses to start kidney transplant at Aswan University Hospital.

This approach is to solve the problems of Renal failure patients who frequent the dialysis units in the governorate and the neighboring governorates of Upper Egypt, Dr. Ashraf Mebed, Executive manager of University Hospitals_ indicated that the meeting dealt with all the requirements for conducting kidney transplant operations at Aswan university Hospital, which have a great impact on patients and their families from Health, social and economic aspects in terms of the patient with Renal failure stops working, which affects on family income, as it imposes great economic burdens on the state during the period of illness, and kidney transplant operations are less expensive for the patient than the cost of dialysis, but they make him able to work, produce, improve gradually and carry out his tasks in his life better.

 

Digital Transformation Committee visits Aswan University hospital

Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed declared that in frame of implementing the directives of state, Ministry of higher Education and scientific research and university hospitals sector and working on implementing state plan to transform university hospitals to smart hospital.

The digital transformation committee visits university hospital to inspect university potential  in different departments and working on transforming it to smart hospital and in attendance of Dr. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshoury _Faculty of Medicine dean, Dr. Ashraf Mebed _ Director of university hospitals.

Aswan University hospital is one of first stage hospitals of this project which its goals to automate university hospital to save time and effort to patient and university hospital health system.

Dr/Mohamed Zaki Dahshoury _Faculty of Medicine dean_ added that the university hospital has good infrastructure and this will connect Aswan University with universities hospitals and entering electronic health system that will be implemented starting from 2021, and this digital and smart transformation will provide great chance for physicians for implementing scientific research by providing patients’ data and records electronically.

Dr. Ashraf Mebed _Executive manager of university hospitals declared that the committee has inspected all departments of University hospital and that preparing to convert university hospital to smart hospital and that to serve patients and working on finishing paper-based system and replacing it with electronic system.

 

Aswan University President: A sports day for female students within the presidential initiative, Sports is national Security

 

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President_ declared that the sports day for female students at the university is a part of the activities of the Initiative of “Sports is national Security” launched by President. Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi_ President of the Republic.

 

Sports activities started in front of the administrative building of the university in Sahari today by walking with implementing all precautionary measures to confront corona virus, in attendance of prof. Adel Makki_ Faculty of Physical Education Dean.

 

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab confirmed that the initiative in Aswan University is witnessing its fifth week since the beginning of the academic year under the presidential initiative” Sports is National security” and working on implementing the initiative of” our health in our sport “.

Aswan University is launching a marathon for female students only.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the university’s stadium, which was equipped at the highest level, with a capacity of 2000 people, and includes a VIP hall, administrative offices and dressing rooms. All student activities and football competitions practiced on it, several multi-purpose courts have also been completed as courts of “basketball, volleyball , beach ball and handball, and the university today has the ability to host student festivals, sports events and university tournaments that are held through student activities during the academic year 2020/2021,  According to the directives of Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Supreme Council of Universities.
