Aswan University President receives the President of the Egyptian E-learning University to discuss ways of cooperation between the two parties

Today, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President received Dr. Hisham Abdel-Salam_ President of the Egyptian E-learning University, on the campus in Sahari.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed declared that is the first visit to Aswan University, with the aim of consolidating fruitful and constructive cooperation between the two parties and working to discuss ways of cooperation with the Egyptian Electronic University, and that in frame of the directives of President. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi_ President of the Republic_ and Dr. Khaled Abdel Gaffer_ Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research_ By activating the role of private universities and their prominent impact in developing the educational system.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the Egyptian E-learning University has been established since 2008 and includes faculty of Computers and Information Technology and faculty of Business Administration and includes 12 branches of Egypt’s state universities, as the study combines attendance through video conference screens and online study. The necessity and importance of Egyptian e-learning university has appeared in light of confronting Corona virus, as the university students were not affected, but continued in the normal situation through distance learning. The Egyptian E-learning University has an important role for the possibility of public, professional and private educational studies and masters in software engineering and its effect on exchange of experiences and its results in digital transformation.

Dr. Hisham Abdel-Salam, President of the Egyptian University praised the importance of cooperation with Aswan University and the role of Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University President, his continuous support and follow-up to the students of the Egyptian University and work to remove all obstacles facing the Egyptian e-learning University in Aswan branch by providing classrooms for students and Internet networks to obtain high level of the educational system.

Aswan University President: Cooperation between the university and the executive and service institutions for implementing Egypt Vision 2030

Today, the Community Service and Environment Development Council No. 81 was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President_ and in attendance of Prof. Magdy Mohamed Ali_ Vice President for Community Service & Environment Development and Head of the Council, and in attendance of Dr. Ahmed Shabaan_Deputy Governor , Eng. Sami Abo Rada_ Chairman of the Board of the Upper Egypt Electricity Distribution Company, Dr. Hoda Mostafa_ Rapporteur of the National Council for Women and Safety of My Home Branch and Chairman of the Rowing Club, Eng. Sayed Jad Al-Rab_ Chairman of the Authority’s Branch for Development of High Dam Lake, Dr. Mamdouh Al-Sayed_ Director of Environment Affairs Agency Branch, Safaa Abdel Wahab_ Director General of the Adult Education Authority Branch, and Eng. Hussein Jalal_ Chairman of the High Dam and Aswan Reservoir And in attendance of faculties’ vice deans to serve the community and develop the environment.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab welcomed the attendees and stressed the importance of cooperation between the scientific, executive and service institutions in Aswan to serve Aswan community issues and working on linking the university with the surrounding environment that the university represents the centre of expertise and culture as well.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that a proposed strategy must be developed to spread the culture of volunteering among young people in field of adult education in light of Egypt’s Vision 2030 and working to expand holding seminars and meetings through which illustrating the negative effects of terrorism on society and working to develop youth security awareness and spreading knowledge of the national projects that implemented by the state for a better future for them.

University president stressed the implementation of all precautionary measures inside and outside the university in light of facing the second wave of corona virus.

Prof. Magdy Mohamed Ali_ Vice President for Community Service and Environment Development, indicated that one of the most important things discussed by the Council was to organize days for environment at Aswan University and to conduct training courses to prepare comprehensive medical convoys in cooperation with Aswan Governorate and the Upper Egypt Electricity distribution Company that targeting the poorest villages and come within the initiative of a dignified life and working to hold A course on fish stocks and how to maximize the benefits of Lake Nasser.

Eng. Sami Abo Rada_ Chairman of board of directors of Electricity Company_ expressed the company’s readiness to cooperate in the fields of scientific research and what serves the clean energy system, as well as providing support in the field of medical convoys to serve people of Aswan most in need.

 

Aswan University is witnessing a surge in scientific research outputs in recent years

Prof/Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President declared that Aswan University witnessed a surge in scientific research outputs and that through a series of measures taken by the university that will enhance scientific research and its outputs in terms of quality and quantity of research.

The university followed an advanced scientific methodology with developing strategies and policies consistent with international standards, which had an impact on the emergence of the university in several international rankings and achieved advanced positions globally, locally and regionally.

 

Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab added that this was clearly apparent through the SCOPUS databases and the SciVal Analyst, as the databases showed a strong presence of Aswan University in three of the most important groups of scientific fields in terms of outputs during the last years (2017-2020), which are ranked as the most important 5% of groups of global scientific fields.

These group or the topic clusters are:

– Electric Power Transmission Networks; Wind Power; Electric Power Distribution
– Electric Potential; Electric Inverters; DC-DC Converters
– Heat Transfer; Nusselt Number; Natural Convection

Aswan University ranked 83rd globally and first in Africa in terms of scientific research outputs in the fields of “Electric Power Transmission Networks; Wind Power; Electric Power Distribution ”.

At the level of African continent, Dr. Salah Kamel from Aswan University came first in this field in Africa and among the top 500 researchers in the world (15th in the world).

And in the fields of “Electric Potential; Electric Inverters; DC-DC Converters ” Aswan University ranked third place in Africa and first in the Arab Republic of Egypt. And the lead in this field in Africa was one of scientists of Aswan University, Prof/Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Mehalel Orabi, and among the top 500 researchers in the world (the position is one hundred and thirty-seven worldwide).

In the fields of “Heat Transfer; Nusselt Number; Natural Convection”

Prof. Ayman Othman_Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research_referred to that Aswan University came in sixth place in Africa and second in Arab Republic of Egypt. Prof. Ahmed Mohamed Rashad from Aswan University ranked fifth at the level of Africa and first among the Arab Republic of Egypt, and also among the top 500 researchers worldwide (seventy-fourth place globally).

Aswan University ranked first place in Africa for a number of researchers in fields of “Partial Discharges; Insulation; Power Transformers.

3 scientists of Aswan University among top 2% of scientists around the world

 

Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan University president_ declared that the most prominent scientists will be honored, whereas it has been announced that 3 of Aswan University scientists are among the top 2% of scientists around the world, and we congratulate them on this occasion.

It was a study that issued by POLS Biology magazine recently that is the largest of its kind in a database that includes a list of the world’s best 2% of scientists in 22 major scientific fields and 176 sub-disciplines.

The list included 3 scientists from Aswan University among the best 2% of scientists around the world in their specialization, they are:

  • Mohamed Najeeb Rashid_ faculty of Science_ in the field of environmental sciences
  • Ahmed Mohamed Rashad_ Faculty of Science_ in the field of mechanical engineering and transportation.
  • Mohammed Abdel-Aziz Mehalel Orabi_ Faculty of Engineering _in the field of electrical and electronic engineering.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the importance of this study is based on its reliance on the SCOPUS database and its analysis by using standardized algorithms and measurements to reach accurate and reliable results that include citations, h-index, hm-index and other criteria.

Prof. Ayman Othman_ Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, indicated that the study concludes with a list of the best 2% of scientists worldwide in their specializations.

The list included from Egypt only 219 scientists in various disciplines. And from Aswan University, in the field of environmental sciences, Prof. Mohammad Nageib Rashid, who ranked No. 842 of a total of 66925. He is among only 5 scientists from Egypt in this specialty.

In the field of mechanical engineering and transportation, Prof. Ahmed Mohamed Rashad ranked No. 880 of a total of 92645. The list included only 15 scientists from Egypt in this specialty.

Prof. Mohammed Abdel-Aziz Mehalel Orabi ranked 1807 of a total of 87611 in the field of electrical and electronic engineering. The list included only 7 scientists from Egypt in this specialty.

Aswan University President witnesses sports day event of Academic staff and their assistants at University Sports Stadium

Today, Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed, witnessed the sports day event of Academic Staff and their assistants at the university as a part of the activities of Initiative of ” sport is National Security” launched by President Abdel- Fattah El-Sisi_ President of the Republic.

 

Sports Day activities in the university’s stadium in Sahari started with running with implementing all precautionary measures to confront Corona virus, in attendance of Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University President, Prof. Ayman Othman_Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Magdy Mohamed Ali_Vice President for Community Service and Environment Development, and Prof. Adel Mekki _Dean of Faculty of Physical Education.

 

Dr. Ahmed Ghallab confirmed that sport has become a lifestyle and as the sports facilities were completed in the university, the chance became available for all to participate in sports and in various sports.

 

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the university’s stadium, which was equipped at the highest level, with a capacity of 2000 spectators, and includes a VIP hall and administrative offices.

All student activities and football competitions are practiced on it, and several multi-purpose courts have also been completed, courts of “basketball, Volleyball, beach ball and handball” and the university today has the ability to host student sports festivals and university tournaments that are held within student activities throughout the academic year 2020/2021.

  

Prof. Ayman Othman, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, added that Faculty of physical education, through the Academic staff and their assistants and faculty Dean, implements this presidential initiative on university’s playgrounds and working on spreading the idea of ​​”sport is a right for everyone” and achieving the goals of the Presidential Initiative “Sport is National Security” which was launched by the political leadership, This initiative was activated from the first day of the Academic year.

 

Prof. Adel Mekki, Faculty of Physical Education dean, indicated that the faculty developed a plan for implementing the initiative by allocating two days for everyone to participate in practicing sports every Sunday and Tuesday of every week under the concept of “sport is a lifestyle”, and today the academic staff and their assistants participated to practice sports with its various activities.

Aswan University celebrates the Prophet’s birth anniversary

Aswan University, headed by Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President, organized a celebration at the university theater in Sahari, on occasion of the anniversary of the Prophet’s birth, in attendance of Prof/ Ayman Othman_ Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof/ Magdi Mohamed Ali_ Vice President for Community Service and Environment Development, in attendance of His Excellency Sheikh/ Mohamed Abd El-Aziz_ the former undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments, and a number of faculty deans, university leaders and students. 

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University President, stressed during his speech the value of tolerance, love, peaceful coexistence and mutual acceptance, and this is what the Messenger of Allah ( peace be upon him) said in the Sharia, the religion of Islam is the religion of moderation.

During his speech, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab congratulates President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi_ President of the Republic and the Council of Ministers, Dr. Khaled Abdel Gaffer_ Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Major General. Ashraf Attia_ Aswan Governor.

He wished for Egypt to have security, safety, stability and prosperity.

He urged students to follow the great morals of the Prophet Mohammed (May Allah bless him and grant him peace). 

The ceremony began with verses from the Holy Quran and then the speech of Sheikh/ Mohamed Abd El-Aziz, which was under the title of ” The Ethics of Mohamed Prophethood” in which he spoke about the situations of the Messenger of Allah in dealing with those who harmed him and how he was tolerant. Sheikh /Mohamed Abdel-Aziz stated situations of Prophet ‘s companions also in tolerance, such as Abdallah Ibn Masoud and Abu Huraira_ May Allah bless them all.

A Muslim should deal with all people with ethics and tolerance.

During the ceremony, religious chanting presented by the vocalist/ Khaled El-Desouky and some religious performances that delighted the attendees and students.

 

 

Aswan University organizes a health symposium in cooperation with the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Control

Today, Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed, witnessed the health symposium which was organized by the university in cooperation with the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Control, in attendance of  Dr. Nouran Al-Ghandour_ member of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Control, Dr. Al-sayed Al-Okda_ member of Board of Directors of the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Control, and Dr. Ghada Abo Zaid_ Deputy Governor of Aswan, Prof. Ayman Othman_Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research and Prof. Magdy Mohamed Ali_ Vice President for Community Service and Environment Development, and Prof. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshouri_ Dean of faculty of Medicine, Dr. Ashraf Mebed_ Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, Vice Deans of Faculty of Medicine, Heads of Departments of Aswan University Hospital and Mohamed Jamal_ Nursing captain.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President welcomed the delegation of the Accreditation and Health Control Authority and the attendees, and Prof. Ahmed Ghallab assured the importance of upgrading the health system inside university hospital to provide better service to patients, but this comes only with hard work and applying quality and accreditation standards and striving to achieve accreditation of the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Control, through a development plan that applies quality and accreditation standards in terms of infrastructure, medical equipment and the training of manpower from doctors and nursing staff in the university hospital that serves a wide range of patients in the governorates of southern Upper Egypt.

Dr. Ghada Abo Zaid_ Deputy Governor of Aswan, Major General. Ashraf Attia added that there is an important role for the media in presenting the significance of the medical system inside hospitals and working to glorifying the medical and nursing profession message.

Dr. Nouran Al-Ghandour_ a member of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Control_ referred to the strategic plan presented by the authority, headed by Dr. Ashraf Ismail_ President of the Authority for Accreditation and Health Control, which aims to accredit and organize health care for all medical facilities and their employees and provide technical support for accrediting Aswan University Hospital and working on improving health and performance service of the health facility.

 

Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Okda_ member of Board of Directors of Accreditation and Health Control Authority, praised the warm welcome and the large turnout of doctors, expressing the importance of implementing quality standards that depend on several standards, the most important of them is first aid, applying governance and organizing the manpower inside university hospitals and the importance of setting Strategic plans to develop the health system, Taking into account global patient safety standards,

Aswan University President: Aswan University hospitals will witness a remarkable development in the health system soon

Prof. Ahmed Ghalab Mohamed_Aswan university President, said that university hospitals in Aswan will witness a substantial breakthrough soon with the opening of the reception and emergency hospital, and the breakthrough that the university hospital will witness after preparing the departments with the latest medical devices, and this comes in frame of the state’s concern of citizens’ health.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that Aswan University hospitals received the military advisor today, in attendance of Prof. Mohamed Zaki Dahshoury_ Dean of Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, Dr. Ashraf Mebed, Executive Director of University Hospitals, and Dr. Essam Abo El-Majd El-Sherif_ Director of the Hospital and Head of the Otolaryngology Department.

Aswan University President: starting the cycling marathon under the slogan of presidential initiative (sport is national security)

Today, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ of Aswan University President, participated in the cycling marathon organized by faculty of Physical Education in cooperation with the Central Administration for Youth Welfare at the university under patronage of Prof. Khaled Abdel Gaffar_ Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the supervision of Dr. Sobhi Mohamed Hassanain_ Vice President of the Universities Sports Federation and Dr. Hisham Al-Joyoushi_ Federation’s  Secretary.

University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab confirmed that this marathon is held in frame of the initiative of President. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi_ Republic President_ under the slogan (Sport is national security) and the state’s concern to pay attention to sports and physical fitness for university students and working on vitalizing student activities through Ministry and Supreme Council of Universities’ plan.
