Aswan university president commends the fruitful cooperation with ministry of communication

In light of development of Egyptian universities, digital transformation and working to applying e-learning system,

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _ Aswan University president _declared that a panel discussion was held today on e-learning in Egyptian universities (opportunities and challenges) and that in cooperation with Ministry of Communications and Aswan University and that in attendance of Prof. Ahmed Ghallab _ University president _and the Deputies of Minister of Communications and Eng. Yasser Kazem_ Director of General Administration For disseminating information technology tools at Ministry of Communications and Eng/ Hoda Dahrouj_ Head of Community Development Sector in Ministry of Communications.

Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University President _added that the panel discussion addressed the opportunities and challenges of e-learning system in Egyptian universities,

The Ministry of Communications praised the efforts which implemented by Aswan University in E-learning field, which put the university among the Egyptian universities that apply e-learning system.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab thanked and appreciated the Ministry of Communications represented in E-Learning competence center ( ELCC) for its continued and full support to e-learning unit at Aswan University, which had a great impact in achieving university’s strategy to improve e-learning system. Dr. Mohamed Eid_ Director of information center at Aswan University_ presented a report of university achievements in field of e-learning over the last three months.

Dr. Nasser Mohamed_ Director of e-learning unit at Aswan University thanked Eng/ Mohamed Bassiouni_ Director of training at E-learning competence center (ELCC) and the working group for their great efforts in training Academic staff and students at the university on how to use the e-learning system at Aswan University.

Under patronage of Minister of communication & Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat, the E-learning competence center (ELCC) which is affiliated to central department of community development at Ministry of communication & Information Technology organizes a panel discussion entitled ” E –learning in Egyptian Universities (Opportunities and Challenges)”

And that at the end of the first stage of training which implemented by E-learning competence center in Aswan university, besides participation in many projects in cooperation with Egyptian universities and that to evaluate the experience of using E-learning systems in Academic education and dealing with the challenges of next stage to ensure its effectiveness in Egyptian universities

Aswan University President inspects the one-day hospital in Aswan Al-gadeda, in preparation for opening it soon

In frame of the expansions in Aswan University facilities in Aswan Al-Gadeda, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed, University President accompanied by Prof. Ayman Othman_Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Eng. Ahmed Rashad_ head of Aswan Al-gadeda city and Secretary General of University, inspected the final preparations of construction and development works that is going on for opening the one-day hospital in Aswan Al-gadeda.

Prof. Ahmed Ghellab confirmed that the one-day hospital was joined to university facilities from Aswan Al-gadeda Authority to serve the residents of Aswan Al-gadeda and neighboring areas and work to provide a distinguished medical service and perform rapid surgeries. The hospital has several departments and a room equipped for light and rapid surgeries.

 

University President added that there is in the one-day hospital radiology, analysis labs, recovery and hosting room for patients after light surgeries.

Prof. Ahmed Ghellab indicated that the one-day hospital which is affiliated with Aswan University and under supervision of Faculty of Medicine, which will be opened in near future and providing it with medical, nursing staff and ancillary services to provide distinguished medical service for residents of Aswan Al-gadeda.

Manufacturing self-sterilizing gates in Faculty of Energy Engineering

In frame of precautionary measures implemented by Aswan University headed by Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_Aswan University President, to confront Corona virus during the Final Classes Exams at the university.

 

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, Aswan University President, declared that the unit of Vehicle maintenance, medical and electrical equipment and production manufactured sterilization gates inside the university with self-efforts that are used to sterilize students when entering the committees to avoid infection with Corona virus.

 

University President added that it is a special nature Unit has its accredited regulation and an administrative structure was chosen that works with high methods of efficiency and manufacturing quality.

The unit designs, establish and preparing works that is assigned to the unit. The administrative structure of the unit includes Dr. Ahmed Mostafa Owais_executive director of the unit_ and Fathi Sayed_ the executive supervisor of the unit. The unit was able to design and produce sterilization gates and devices against Corona virus by producing sterilization gates at the university and travelling sterilization units to secure and protect Academic staff, their assistants, students and university employees during performing the second semester exams for Bachelor students. The sterilization gates which are produced by the unit are with high efficiency and ability to work for long hours without stopping because the materials and equipment that made up the gates were tested by Dr. Ahmed Owais_ Unit director_ and a specialized committee and selected group of Academic staff at Faculty of Energy Engineering.

 

Dr. Adel Zain El-Din Mohamed _ Faculty of Energy Engineering Dean indicated to the effort exerted by the unit to produce sterilization gates in short time with high efficiency and a unique design that the unit has proven its ability to manufacture and produce any work assigned to it and its ability to meet university needs without having to look for external providers and the unit is currently implementing and developing university buses gates for passengers while getting on and off the bus for the safety of students, employees, Academic staff and their assistants.

Aswan University president chairs the selection committee of faculty of science dean

The dean selection committee meeting was held today, headed by prof/ Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan University president and membership of Prof/ Ayman Othman _Vice dean for graduate studies and research, Prof/ Ali Abbass Dandarawi _ Former Vice president, Prof. Ali Kamel Khalaf Allaa_Former faculty dean,Prof/Haroon Abdel-fattah Al-Sheikh _ Former head of Physics department.

Prof/Ahmed Ghallab declared that the interviews for selecting faculty of science dean were conducted, The committee heard to performance developments plans, proposals and ideas of candidates for faculty dean and the vision of every candidate for developing the faculty wheather in Educational research or community aspects.

Aswan University President directs to increase patents and connecting scientific research with industry

Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan University president_ declared that according to state plan and its strategy for sustainable development (Egypt 2020) which depends on the current vision which is based on economic development to support innovation and invention and encourage innovators and inventors in addition to promoting small, medium and micro industries whereas the interest of Aswan University in obtaining funding from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology to establish complex of technology Innovation commercialization offices at Aswan University (TICO-Aswan) to provide real and more effective services to connect the university and scientific research with industry and Society needs.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan University  President_ directed in his last meeting the director of TICO project team, Dr. Abo el-Hassan Al-Shazly Ahmed Younis, to increase patent applications for researchers from the university and innovators from outside. University President indicated that the university administration gives high priority, complete and comprehensive care for this type of projects and offices that contribute in solving society problems and working on connecting them with industry, including the benefit and prosperity for our beloved Egypt. Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Ali confirmed on project team to increase efforts to achieve desired goals from office complex and making protocols with nearby factories in governorate and discuss ways of mutual cooperation and searching for industrial and technological challenges of companies and factories to be presented to Graduate Studies Council in preparation for inclusion it in university’s research plan.

For his part, Dr. Ayman Othman, Vice President for graduate Studies and Research_ added that he wished for the work team to success in the next stage, as he said that (TICO- Aswan) registered 38 patent applications, it was able to have about 20 prototypes of valuable innovations, and also contributed to establishing about 4 Emerging companies, and (TICO- Aswan) and its innovators won many awards in local and international innovation exhibitions, the team also attended more than 60 training and workshops and made more than 7 visits to factories and industrial companies in the governorate, and TICO- Aswan also contributed for registering Aswan university to programs of European Union projects and activating the identification code of Aswan University (PIC number), as well as the participation of Aswan University in of African Universities Federation based in Accra_ Ghana, as well as the participation of Aswan University in World Association of Universities based in France in the last three years.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab directed researchers at university and all innovators and inventors of Aswan Governorate, to communicate with the (TICO –Aswan) team and presenting proposals and ideas that need financial, technical or academic support, by entering on (TICO- Aswan) website and applying for 2030 innovation challenge competition, whether for training in field of Self-employment and entrepreneurship, or to start in establishing startup companies for Youth, or to build a prototype for innovation preparing to participation in local and international competitions and to market it, or to help in registering a patent, and to save to the researcher about 17,000 from the project budget.

Software Engineering Fundamentals Scholarship

Software Engineering Fundamentals Scholarship is presented by Information Technology institute (ITI) in Aswan branch, it is a free scholarship for outstanding graduates, students can attend the scholarship from anywhere as it is provided entirely through e-learning techniques, and attendance or presence in Aswan is not required. Please, read the registration and acceptance requirements for each course well before registering in it, knowing that these requirements will be discussed during the course interviews.

Innovation Challenge 2030

TICO – Aswan announces Innovation Challenge 2030 for academic staff, their assistants, university employees, students and also the external community

Innovation must fulfill the following specification:

-Being in line with the sustainable development strategy of Egypt Vision 2030.

-It should be viable.

-It should be economically feasible and solve societal problem.

– Being new and contain a creative step.

 

Winning projects will have the following:

 

-Intellectual property rights (patent) will be registered.

-Financial support for implementation of the prototype.

– Scientific and technical consultation.

-Participation in local and international competitions.

-Marketing of Final Product.

 

Participation request in the competition should be submitted with detailed description of the idea or the proposed budget in case of requesting to make a prototype by filling the application form on the following link.
