Aswan University president inspects Second semester exams for final classes

Today, the second semester exams for final classes started at Aswan University. Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab inspected exams committees in Faculties of Physical Education in Sahary and Dar Al-Uloom in Aswan Algadeda to follow – up committees and Precautionary measures which implemented by university preparing to Second semester Exams 2019/2020.

Prof/ Ghallab confirmed the importance of applying all precautionary measures, starting from measuring student’s temperature before entering from the faculty, through sterilization gates, and hanging guiding signs on the ground and in faculties’ entrances and posters on the walls, to direct students to the committees.

In addition to wearing medical masks, having space between students inside committees, not exchanging tools and sterilization and spraying permanently.

Aswan University president indicated that the second semester exams began today in faculties of Dar Al-Uloom and Physical Education and the exams will be completed tomorrow, at faculty of Law and on Thursday at faculty of Arts and next Saturday  11/7/2020 the exams will begin at the rest of university’s faculties.

Prof/Ghallab started his inspection tour from faculty of Physical Education Committees in Sahari accompanied by Dr/ Ashraf Mohamed _Faculty of Physical Education and Dr/ Adel Mekky_Vice dean.

 

Aswan University achieved the first place at the level of Egyptian emerging universities

Aswan University president Prof, Ahmed Ghallab announces that Aswan University achieved the first place at the level of Egyptian emerging Universities during the last fifty years and that according to THE young Universities Ranking 2020 and it has been ranked 101 – 150 globally and the first place at the level of the Egyptian universities.

This ranking considers a new achievement to Aswan University which separated from south valley university on 2012 and its headquarters in Aswan

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab _ Aswan University president _added that Aswan University has obtained many scientific and research titles among the international universities, and this is the culmination of societal, scientific, environmental and research efforts of Aswan University, it became a scientific and research edifice in Upper Egypt, whereas its faculty reached 20 faculties and an institute of African studies and Nile Basin states. Aswan University was able to catch up with old universities despite its recent establishment, with opening the new campus in Aswan Algadeda which includes 9 new buildings to serve educational and research system and establishing many research centers and specialized laboratories.

Launching Huawei Academy at Aswan University

Today, June 23, 2020, an online meeting was held in attendance of Dr. Omar Talaat – Minister of Communications and Information Technology.

And with participation of Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed – Aswan University President – to launch and open Huawei’s Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at Aswan University, Under patronage of Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

Prof. Ghallab stressed that in frame of digital transformation and in light of the crisis the country is going through for confronting Corona virus, Innovation and development are the words that must be in our minds for an effective way out of the current global crisis as the digital transformation is a step in overcoming the economic crisis.

The opening of Huawei Academy of Artificial Intelligence at Aswan University is an essential pillar of the digital transformation of foundations and companies. The academy also provides smart data processing.

Huawei Academy at Aswan University aims to provide students with smart knowledge essentials and working to develop skills and improve students’ innovative capabilities for more creativity opportunities.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab expressed his happiness with establishing the Huawei Academy in Aswan University to serve all faculties students at the university and also work to raise their efficiency, through various training courses throughout the Academic year to qualify them to compete in labor market.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that Huawei Academy will contribute in developing and refining students’ skills in the field of information and communication technology through serious practical training that prepares them to labor market and the ability to compete in digital transformation field.

Dr. Loay Saad Al-Din Nasrat – Dean of faculty of Engineering – indicated that a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was concluded between Aswan University, faculty of Engineering and Huawei Academy and during January 2020, it was also approved to establish a branch in South Upper Egypt to be the first academy for Huawei at Aswan University to serve the university and the governorate,whereas students are educated through the ICT infrastructure and smart devices.

There are also four main fields for students to be trained in (communications networks – information technology – smart devices – cloud services).

Dr. Loay Saad El-Din explained that Aswan Governorate is among 8 governorates at level of Republic to which the digital transformation system will be applied.

Therefore, the role of Huawei Academy and Aswan University will have a major impact in graduating student cadres in the field of artificial intelligence in Aswan.

First online doctoral discussion under supervision of Aswan University President

A doctoral discussion of Dr. Alaa Hashem Abdel Azim was held today entitled Multi-Approach Studies to assess the Sustainable Agriculture of Desert hinterland – West Edfu, Aswan, Egypt.

Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghellab, confirmed that the university follows the precautionary measures to confront Corona virus and conducting doctoral and master discussions for postgraduate students online to prevent gatherings with taking preventive measures.

Aswan University president: the last group of stranded persons left the guesthouse today

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed, Aswan university President, witnessed today, the exit of the last group of stranded persons and returning from Sudan in the guesthouse in Sahari, which includes 50 rooms equipped at the highest level for serving Egyptians returning from abroad, the university administration applies the precautionary and preventive measures for the safety of stranded persons and workers In the guesthouse, those who have been infected with Corona virus.

Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghellab, pointed out that the university hostels and guesthouse continue to play their national role in receiving the stranded persons from Sudan, in frame of directives of the state and Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research towards Egyptians abroad, as Aswan University hostels have received until now 218 citizens returning from Sudan and presented to them all aspects of medical care when they were spending the incubation period and return to their families, university president indicated that sterilization works are done permanently, especially after the departure of the stranded groups.

Aswan university president: 64 stranded persons have left the guesthouse after spending their incubation period

Aswan University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab declared that 64 of stranded persons who are returning from Sudan have left the guesthouse in Sahari after spending their incubation period, and the university administration is constantly involved in implementing the precautionary and preventive measures to ensure the safety of the guesthouse workers from being infected from corona virus.

Prof. Ahmed Ghellab referred that the university hostels and the guesthouse continuing their role in receiving the stranded persons from Sudan, in frame of  directives of state and Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research towards the Egyptians abroad, whereas Aswan University hostels have received until now 204 citizens returning from Sudan and it presenting to them all aspects of medical care until they spend the incubation period and return to their families, wishing everyone the safety and a speedy recovery for infected people.

Aswan University president inspected university hospital on the fourth day of Eid Al-Fitr

Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan University President did field trip today to visit the headquarter of the stranded brothers that returning from Sudan who are residing in the guesthouse in Sahari, to congratulate them on occasion of Eid Al-Fitr

To verify their well-being, emphasizing the national role Aswan University and university hostels whereas Aswan University received unitl now 198 citizens returning from sudan and number of teachers within the educational mission in sudan and the guest house has 70 citizens providing them all aspects of care and there are 138 citizens were also released after spending incubation period and returning to their families.

The firld trip included also inspecting the construction works of the project of developing the ground floor in the hospital’s outpatient clinic building at university hospital which is being worked in full swing to establish central restaurant, kitchen, sterilization unit and new laundry in the outpatient building in Aswan university hospital.

 

 

A distance learning course has been launched in cooperation between Huawei and Aswan University

Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghellab Mohamed declared that in frame of the partnership between Aswan University and the global company of Huawei, the academy branch received number of students for getting accredited courses in network and artificial intelligence in the second phase for distance training in technology, Information, new technologies and network systems, and in the face of corona virus, Aswan University applied the e-learning system on our electronic platform that supported by Huawei company through its training programs.

The increasing interest of students was obvious on knowing the available programs of Huawei and joining it and the fruitful cooperation between the two parties, especially in applying the directives of ministry of higher of Education and scientific research for applying Distance learning system.

Prof. Ghallab added that this program will contribute directly in developing students skills in Information and communication technology through practical training which qualify them to labor market and competitiveness in digital transformation field.

Faculty of engineering dean Dr. Loai Saad El-Din Nasrat pointed out that a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was concluded between Aswan University and Huawei Academy in January 2020, it was also agreed to establish a branch in South Upper Egypt to be the first academy for Huawei in Aswan University to serve university students and Aswan Governorate, whereas students will be taught through ICT infrastructure and smart devices.

Dr. Samia Heshmat, Dr/ Mahmoud Fakhry were trained in Cairo for 15 days (TOT) on the main fields and passed international tests.

And because of what the country is going through, it is decided to teach students of the first group (about 20 students) online, their names were registered to start the activities after Eid Al-Fitr.

This is in line with Aswan University plan headed by Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University president_ for providing Electronic platform for holding lectures and exams for University students.

University president allocates university hospital’s hotel department as isolation place for medical, academic staffs and employees

Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _  announces that for the safety of medical staff in university hospital and academic staff in light of confronting corona virus and due to increasing numbers of infected people and some doctors have been infected, as there is no places for positive cases in hospitals in last period.

Prof. Ghallab added that due to the high rate of infection, a decision was taken to allocate isolation places for medical and academic staffs and university employees inside university hospital’s hotel department and that in coordination with Prof. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshouri _Faculty of medicine dean and university hospital administration, asking Allah the safety for everyone and speedy recovery for infected people .
